Devil We Know Series: Still MUST be played in order?

In the beginning of the series it suggests that players HAVE to complete this in order. I'm running really low on Tier 1-5 scenarios for my group. If I could run part III and IV for them, it would make my life MUCH easier, but many of them never played parts I and II.

Thoughts?

I believe that restriction has been removed from all series scenarios.

There is nothing stopping you from doing so.

I'll say part 3 is MUCH more fun when you've played part 1. The look on their faces when they saw *redacted* made it worth it. The fact that he was a cake walk in pt 1, and then mauled the party in pt 3 adds to it.

That said, Pathfinder time is a wibbly wobbly timey wimey thing.

I was under the impression that you can play a later part without playing the earlier part, but that doing so locked you out of playing the earlier parts, due to the spoilers inherent in the series. Although, we haven't run out of scenarios for most folks yet, so it's never really come up.

Frankly, this is such a great series, we've brought it back and started running the whole thing again. It's one of the best campaign arcs in the campaign, introduces certain organizations and NPCs in memorable ways, and makes players REALLY hate *redacted*!

As far as I know, you no longer get "locked out" for having played the later parts first. It's inherently no different than GMing and then playing in a scenario. From a story standpoint, it is obviously better to play them in order though.

Can you provide a reference for this? As it stands, by the rules laid out in the scenario you have to play them in order. I've checked the FAQ but my forum search-fu may not be up to the task.

Here.

Thank you very much! Trying to coordinate a 6 person team for Gen Con is a handful. Getting everyone with multiple characters who can play together is tricky at best. This makes life much easier. Some of the group has played it before, but not others. It is a great arc.
