I'm playing a cavalier in kingmaker, and I recently discovered that my horse being able to go at full speed is important. Tracking encumbrance is also a huge pain. I found an excellent solution on The Alexandrian. I've tweaked it a bit to suit my taste and put it on a google doc so that its all in one place for me.
I've also made a partially automated spreadsheet to make calculating encumbrance easier. Its filled in with some stuff as a demonstration.
