Help pimping my campaign

Rise of the Runelords

Ok so I am making a triumphant return to gming after a 3+ year hiatus and I chose to start it off with rise of the runelords so I have something structured to base my campaign around. Normally I do everything from my own made up stuff but I don't have as much time for all that planning atm. Now I have a large game mat to draw stuff but I want this game to be something special so I want all the combats and dungeons to be on a 3d playing field and would like the communities help doing this. I have 2 sets of worldwerks streets of malifaux and 1 set of buildings of malifaux. What I wanted to know is if people thin k it would be a good idea to continue investing in this stuff and end up getting their dungeon rise rests to make the dungeons or if I should spend less cash and more time on stuff and pick up some hirst arts molds and make the dungeons from that stuff? The hirst arts rout would consume more time and be less moduler and take up more space but ultimately would make for better representations of dungeons and stuff and be more customizable. What do you guys think?

I have constructed a couple sets using Malifaux sets (I've one of the Buildings, Streets, and Sewers). While sometimes you will have to do some... constructive engineering, the Malifaux sets do seem to work well.

Also, do note this: while you might not be able to perfectly recreate the buildings, if you come up with something close then why worry about details?

You might, however, want to invest in chairs, tables and the like. They help with maneuvering around the battlefield and creating obstacles (and you'll find a lot of the battlegrounds have stuff like this, especially at the start).

Also, Paizo put out a cardboard cutout set specifically for RotR. While it is missing one or two models, it is still damn useful. The only problem I've had with them is that my old lead minis (some of which are over 20 years old) are... hobbits in comparison. ^^;; I'm waiting for Paizo to release the NPC Codex cardboard cutouts but that was pushed back.

You're going to have fun. Though if you've read these forums at all, you'll know that early Runelords can be lethal. I'd either recommend using Hero Points, or being perfectly willing to fudge die rolls.

Good luck!
