I ran my first PFS game this past Sunday. I was able to introduce 8 new people to the PFS world in two sessions. It was my first foray into GMing PFS, and now I've come to reporting.
I've got the character ID numbers set for the first session to be reported. However, the form for reporting is missing the header.
I see the instructions, a 3" tall blank space, and then the character information where I can add the characters. The form is "active" as I can enter in the character IDs and it recognizes them. However, I need to fill out the header (I think) because the instructions say to fill out GM information prior to the character information and the form won't save because I am missing information.
Can someone point out what mistake I might be making? Or confirm that I'm missing the GM info header portion of the form as suspected?

It does sound like you're missing the header ... try logging out and then logging back in and restarting... if that doesn't work, you'll probably have to email Mike, but keep in mind he's in Australia and I don't know how fast he'll respond.
Logged out and in. Restarted. I still have that blank section on the form between the instructions and the character entry portion. I'll try from a different computer next with fingers crossed.
Thanks for confirming the header part. Being the first time I'm reporting a session, its easy for it to be user error for certain.

You should see a box to select the adventure, a box for the date, a place to enter the GM PFS number, their character number (if they are taking credit), a box for the GM's name (which should auto-fill with the account name of the GM - you can change this if you want to list the GM's real name that they used to sign the Chronicle sheet) and a place to select the faction of the GM's character (again, if they are taking credit for the game).
Below this are 6 sections that look the same to report each character.

I tried another computer and was successful. I saw all the things that Don Walker mentinoed.
I have reported successfully my first PFS GM session. Yay!
For posterity, the computer that didn't show the upper portion of the form (for the GM information, etc.) and only showed the player entry information was running Internet Explorer 8. I'm not saying that was the cause, just citing that info for anyone who later reads this if they experience the same trouble.

Grats on reporting your first session! And including as much info as you can when you encounter problems with a web application is what you should do- I am sure someone will take notice of your post and follow up.

I am glad you got your reporting to work, and welcome to PFS! But just to clarify... You did not have 8 players in 1 game did you?

8 new people to the PFS world in two sessions
Dragnmoon,
I think he either had 4/4 in the two sessions or 5/3+GM NPC to make it legal. I hope. :)
Rory,
Well done! Remember that all us VC/VL types are happy to help if you need anything - feel free to PM if I can do anything.
I think you'll really like GMing PFS and there are some great threads here for tips, tricks, and gear that will be useful.
Looking forward to seeing that gold star by your name soon!
Best,
Rob

I GM'd two sessions of PFS First Steps Part I. The first had four new players to PFS. The second had five players, four new to PFS, and one who played PFS for the first time at last year's GenCon.
The final battles in the two sessions were exciting polar opposites.
I've been GMing campaigns for over 20 years now. The nifty part is that I'm introducing the "next generation" into gaming using PFS. Three of the players were dads from all the many campaigns I ran in the past. Each dad brought their kid(s), ranging from 8 to 12 years of age. It made for a great day.
I have already contacted the VC from Lexington, KY. He has graciously extended an open invite and I hope to stop in to see his PFS setup in the next month or two. That's something that will help me a lot in getting PFS GMing feet grounded.
Thanks for all the greetings!
