This line has gotten me thinking of Aroden. I also remember in planescape that the Astral was littered with small moons or planetoids that were the dead husks of fallen gods.
I know that Cthulhu mythos had a similar effect to the sleeping old ones perverting mortals in their dreams and the dark places of the mind.
So now why could Aroden not dream? What would its effects be? Why did he destroy prophesy? Did he mean to? Is there something dark he saw that he wants avoided? Could even his dead form guide pc's to fight this calamity?
