My character accidentally has more pregen-chronicles than is legal, What should I do?

So, the situation is as follows:

For a while, I didn't have any characters beyond level 1 and all the scenarios in our area were higher-level ones, so I kept playing pregens for a while. Most of these chronicles went to the same character, my then level 1 cleric. Not a totally new character, he had played First Steps parts 1 and 2 at the time. At this point he is level 2 character.

At that point we all thought that the chronicles activate when the character reaches the tier the scenario was played on. Because of this, my character has 5 chronicles played with level 7 pregen on him. Three of these are tier 5-6, two tier 7-8. I thought this was all well and good. But the updated Guide to Society seems to say that the chronicles activate when the character reaches the level of the pregen played, in this case 7. This means that I can't have more than 3 chronicles of those 5 on this character. What should I do?

If I could, I'd like to give last to of the chronicles to another character that could still have them, because they couldn't have actually been given to the character they're on now. I'd prefer my newly level 7 paladin, she has one scenario played on level 7 so she could still fit them, and she did already exist when the scenarios were played, so I could have given them to her as well as the cleric. But if this is not allowed, I could give them to a totally new character or something. I just hope they wouldn't go to waste, as they're on the wrong character only because the rules were unclear on the matter.

It just means that when you level to 7th, from whatever, you will automatically jump to level 8 with 2 XP and be 1 chronicle from 9th*. You'll get the rewards on those chronicles for whatever tier was actually played at the table with the pre-gen when applying them.

Hope that helps.

EDIT:*This is assuming you hit 7th level exactly. You're basically just adding all 5 chronicles in the order earned right after you hit 7th. However, if you play a module or some other multi-XP event, you might not be starting right at 18 XP there.

As long as the character would have been legal for the tier played (in this case a tier 5-9) then apply the chronicles in order. Start the first the first time it would be legal to do so.

So in your example, when your character reaches 7th level, start applying your 7th level pregen chronicles, in chronological order.

When you reach 8th level, you continue to apply the 7th level chronicles normally.

The only time you'd be in trouble, is trying to apply a tier 3-7 scenario chronicle to a level 8 character, or if you had 10 chronicles and you tried to apply that 10th from a Tier 5-9 to a level 10 character.

Okay, the tiers of the scenarios are okay, as the last two chronicles are both from scenarios that allow level 8 characters.

So I just get the chronicles later than expected? At level 7-8 instead of three at level 5 and two at level 7 as I thought before.

Correct, Leathert.

Good, as now I don't have to cause any trouble for the GMs. Or myself.

Thanks for your help.
