Hi,
I am been playing since D&D 1st ed, but I have went to a total of four conventions. Last year I went to the local convention, but mostly play board games and non-d20 base role-playing games. On the last session of the last day I played Pathfinder Society Game. I had a blast.
Another player and I both had the same faction mission that was Diplomacy base and either of the character had much Cha or any ranks in Cha skill. We had a rough time finish out mission, but finally got luck.
In the last year my oldest daughter (she is 12) has become interested in role-playing. I invited some friends over and we have started playing Rise of the Runelords AP as a monthly game that includes my daughter. She is doing great. We have played about 6 sessions. I start with the beginner box rules for the first session and we have added rules until we are up to the core rules.
My daughter wants to go to the convention with me this year. I thought we could do some Pathfinder Society sessions. We have talked about creating characters before the convention and that they know each other. My goal would be for her to have a great time playing and be successful in her faction mission.
Would it be good if both of our characters be of the same faction?
Are there classes more useful in Pathfinder Society play? (i.e. There never any fighters or Druid suck because they’re very little Wilderness adventures)
Are there classes that are more useful for specific faction mission more than other? (i.e. Rogues are useful for Sczarni’s mission)
Are there skills that are more useful for faction mission more than other? (i.e. Diplomacy is used a lot missions)
Are there skills that are more useful for specific faction mission more than other? (i.e. sneak is used in Sczarni’s mission a lot)

It might help out, at least until she's more mature of a player... that way you can help her out in finishing her missions. Perhaps she plays the more combat-oriented character (Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Barbarian), and you play a skill-monkey (Rogue, Bard). Then the two of you can cover the bases.

I've seen almost every class being played, in my somewhat limited time in PFS. Guess I actually haven't seen the Samurai or Ninja, but I believe pretty much every other class has seen play.
People are always happy to see Clerics (positive energy channeling) and Life Oracles; and I've never heard a groan when I've announced I was playing a Rogue. Bards are also in high-demand (for their inspire courage, as well as their skills!)
It seems arcanists are somewhat rare, but not for any real reason, as far as I can tell, but they are always welcome!

If you are playing a Paladin, you probably want to be Silver Crusade, assuming you want to keep on being a Paladin. Many missions can be less than Good... kill person A, incite Riot, etc... While it has been ruled that your alignment will not be at risk, that does not mean that your oaths will be safe.
Also be careful about pre-3rd season, where Silver Crusade becomes Andoran... generally safe, but not always.
Other than that, remember that many missions are skill related (anything from Diplomacy, Linguistics, Sleight of Hand, etc). So, the skill-hungry classes (Fighter, Paladin) may have some trouble completing a lot of them.\

As I stated above, just about anything can come into play. However, that being said...
Diplomacy
Perception
Knowledge: Local
Linguistics
Sleight of Hand
But, it could be just about anything... or nothing.

Can't really speak to that... not enough experience. Probably nothing to specific to any faction, though.
Note: You could always create your characters before the Con and join in on PFS games locally... no reason to wait until the Con. That's what I'd do, in any case, so that you can introduce her to PFS play without the distractions of a convention.
You could also try running a home game with your local group... perhaps go through First Steps together... so that she, and the other players, can get their characters up to 2nd level before the stress of the con. Also, remember, as a GM, you'll get the same credit they do, so will be able to get your character up to 2nd level.
Plus, with First Steps, you'll at least get some clue as to the sort of missions you'll see with each faction.
Hope this helps!
