No, not that I have seen. I don't participate in organized play, so maybe it's different there? I would be surprised if that is the case, though.

OK, I may have missed it but is it noted anywhere in the books that a team of Pathfinders have to tithe, donate, etc. a percentage of whatever they recover from tombs back to the Society?

The way it works in organized play is that characters turn over what they find to the society. So much wealth is awarded in a scenario, and players can buy items for their characters based on their chronicle sheets, available gold, and fame.
Yes. In PFS, you can use the things you find during the adventure, but it all gets turned over to the Society afterwards.
If you're not talking about PFS, you don't have to interact at all with the Pathfinder Society in-game (or out, I suppose).
