How long to run Carrion Hill?

Adventures

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm going on a weekend trip with some buddies and they're interested in running Carrion Hill in 1 sitting.

To anyone who has played it, how long did it take you? Were there parts that could be edited for smoother play?

When I played it, we did it in 9.5 hours

You could do it in 4-6 hours if the group keeps their tongues behind their teeth except when necessary.

A module I would normally earmark 2 sessions to play through -9-10 hours' play time plus smoke breaks, chow time and such.

Grand Lodge

It took me about 9-10 hours. That seems to be around the average, from what I've gathered from others that have played it.

Thanks! I really appreciate the info.

Liberty's Edge

Don't rush this one, it's far too good to trundle through. The atmosphere and the creep factor is brilliant if you get it right and have players who will run with it. There are weird inbred citizens, continual rain, haunting crows, town guards who look like crows, an Edgar Allan Poe-like Mayor, a foul industrial area and stinking marshes all around.
I ran it the first time in three evening sessions. Approx 10.5 hours play.
I ran it the second time at a convention in two slots. Approx 10 hours.

If you can print out the maps at full size, or draw them out in advance you will save a lot of time.

Reading the "The Dunwich Horror" by HP Lovecraft will help get you in the mood.

Slurp, slurp. Enjoy.
