I wanted to make this clear so that this makes sense for me. If you use a pregen character, for example level 4, in a tier 4-5 and you complete the mission you are suppose to get the tier 4-5 reward. I was lead to believe that you can take the reward for the lower tier (1-2) so that you could add it to a level 1 or 2 character. Is this right? I'm just looking for clarification.

You take the reward for the tier you played.

You can apply the credit to a lower level character. They will not have access to it until they reach the appropriate level to have the chronicle.

Example: Play tier 4-5 with a pregen and get a chronicle. Give the Chronicle to Biff the wonder Mage level 1 and put it in the back of his folder. When Biff gets to 4th you dust off the chronicle and add it to Biff.

Delayed gratification but gratification none the less. If Biff dies and is not raised before you can apply the chronicle then it is lost, you may not redirect it.

You can either take the credit at the tier played and wait to apply it to a character when they reach that level, or you can take it to apply to a brand new 1st level character (and only a brand new character) even if the Tier doesn't include a sub-tier that includes 1st level (e.g. a Tier 3 to 7 scenario).

Guide to Pathfinder Society Organised Play v4.3, page 6 wrote:

If you play a non-1st-level pregenerated character, you can apply the credit to your character as soon as she reaches the level of the pregenerated character played.

You may also opt instead to apply the credit from the non- 1st-level pregenerated character played to a newly created character with the gp gained reduced to 500 gp (or 250 for characters using the slow advancement track). You do not lose access to Prestige Points, boons, and items listed on the Chronicle sheet that were earned during the adventure.
