Migratory Manor

Description

This seemingly normal iron key of average size is a refreshing relief to weary adventurers. Once per day by turning the key as if into an invisible lock on an invisible door and then knocking in a specific pattern the migratory manor opens, allowing entrance into a mage’s magnificent mansion (as per the spell). The manor is a persistent extra-dimensional space that follows with the key. Upon entering, the portal formed closes behind the controller. Like the spell, only those designated by the controller may enter the manor, and must enter before the controller of the key, but can exit at will with the portal closing behind them immediately. The portal will not open at a new location as long as there are creatures (non-objects) inside.

Objects created within the manor through the magnificent mansion spell, cannot exist outside of it. Any items created by the manor and then removed disappear. This includes food, which provides nourishment if ingested but cannot be carried outside. The manor resets everyday at 11:00 am, restocking all contents created through the spell.

The controller of the key can summon or dismiss unseen servants within the manor as they choose (maximum of 26). By default, two servants are called for each person that enters, to serve their needs, as long as all the servants aren't already being used. The controller can set their own rules, changing this default permanently or simply reassigning servants on a case by case basis. Any person can dismiss a servant serving them, or call one to task if any are available.

In addition to the normal effects, the manor contains one room for storage that acts as a portable hole (as per the spell). The room has the standard dimensions, but cannot be moved after the initial floor plan of the manor is set by the controller. Any items left in the manor are stored here. Rules regarding Bags of Holding apply in this room. If the room is ever full, the smallest items that do not fit are expunged on to the ground outside of the manor when the last occupant leaves. Unseen servants, if commanded to, will return items to whatever position inside the manor that the occupants desire, and can be set to default rooms and items to specifications permanently.
