Homebrew and House Rules

So, I made this for someone on this board a while back, and recently, a group of people I talk to on yet another set of boards have decided on an all fey group for running Kingmaker.

Naturally, I thought of this race. Before I send it off, please pick it apart so I can tweak it:

10 Point Race Build:

Type: Fey (2 points)
Abilities: Advanced Ability Scores (4) +2 all mental, -2 str, +4 dex
Size: Tiny (4 points)
Movement: Slow (-1 point)
Racial Trait: Skill Training (1point) (Fly, Survival)

Base Stats would start with:

10 Str 10 Dex 10 Con 10 Int 10 Wis 10 Cha

Apply Tiny:

8 Str 12 Dex 10 Con 10 Int 10 Wis 10 Cha

Apply Advanced Ability Scores:

6 Str 16 Dex, 10 Con 12 Int 12 Wis 12 Cha

Building the Bestiary Version:

Building these stats to create the Pixie in the Bestiary (4HD creature) you would allocate points as follows:

Str 7 = 1 point
Dex 20 = 5 points (+1 at 4th HD = 21)
Con 12 = 2 points
Int 16 = 5 points
Wis 15 = 3 points
Cha 16 = 5 points

The total cost (point wise) for getting the base stats to the pixie's stats would be 21 points. Pretty damn close stat wise . . . Assuming a 20 point build.

For the other Pixie abilities, rather than grant them to the race et al, I broke them apart into the following feats:

Feats:

Feat:Fey Invisibility
Pre-requisites: Pixie Race
The pixie grows more and more difficult to spot as she learns to master her fey nature. At 1st level, the pixie can use vanish 3/dayl as per the spell at CL 1. At 3rd level, she can use invisibility once per day. At 5th level, she can turn invisible at will, as per the Greater Invisibility spell, for a number of minutes per day equal to her level. These minutes do not need to be consecutive, but they must be spent in 1-minute increments. Using Fey Invisibility is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity

Feat: Fey Flight
Pre-requisites: Pixie Race
The pixie grows lighter as she gains power, eventually gaining the ability to fly. At 1st level, the pixie can use feather fall at will and gains a +4 racial bonus on Swim checks. At 3rd level, she can cast levitate once per day. At 5th level, she can fly, as per the spell, for a number of minutes per day equal to her level. These minutes do not need to be consecutive, but they must be spent in 1-minute increments.

Feat: Special Arrows
Pre-requisites: Pixie Race
When a pixie fires an arrow from any bow, it can decide to change the arrow's properties by sprinkling it with magical pixie dust. Doing so is a free action as long as the pixie is the one who fires the arrow. A pixie can generate a number of uses of dust equal to its Charisma score each day (16 uses per day for most pixies)—the dust is useless to another creature unless the pixie gives the dust freely. In this case, the pixie chooses what effect the dust will have on an arrow when it is applied, and it takes a standard action to apply the dust to the arrow. Once pixie dust is applied to an arrow, the pixie's chosen effect persists on the arrow for only 1 round. As long as an arrow is altered in this way, it does not inflict damage when it hits—it only causes its new effect. A pixie can choose any one of the following three effects when dusting an arrow.

Charm: The target must succeed on a DC (10 + Cha Modifier + 1/2 the Pixie's Level) Will save or be affected as though by a charm monster spell for 10 minutes.

Memory Loss: The target must succeed on a DC (10 + Cha Modifier + 1/2 the Pixie's Level) Will save or be affected by a modify memory spell (this effect can only eliminate the previous 5 minutes of memory—a pixie typically uses this ability to make the target forget it encountered the pixie so it won't chase the pixie when he flees).

Sleep: The target must succeed on a DC (10 + Cha Modifier + 1/2 the Pixie's Level)5 Will save or fall asleep for 5 minutes.

The fly feat is a shameless recolor of the flight hex.

Final Race after all that:

Pixie Racial Traits
-4 Str +6 Dex +2 Int +2 Wis +2 Cha

Tiny: Pixies are small, and hard to hit. A pixie gains +2 bonus to AC because of their to size, but takes a -2 penalty on its CMB/CMD for the same reason. Tiny creatures also gain +4 size bonus on their Fly Skill, and a +8 bonus size bonus to Stealth skill. Due to their small size, a flying pixie risks getting blown away in winds in excess of 20 miles per hour. See the fly skill for more information. A tiny sized character can only carry half the amount listed for a medium sized character. See listings in Equipment and Additional Rules for more information on tiny sized creatures. It is very unlikely that tiny sized equipment will be readily available outside of pixie communities.

Low Light Vision: A pixie can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light. See Additional Rules.

Slow:Although fast to scale, in the world at large, a pixie is moves much slower than her medium sized companions. The base move for a pixie is 20'.

Skill Training: All pixies are trained from an early age about the basics of flight and survival. These skills are always considered class skills for a pixie.

Languages: A pixie begins play knowing how to speak common and sylvan. A pixie with a high Intelligence score may choose from the following: Draconic, Elven, Gnoll, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, or Orc.

No one has input? Usually people love ripping race builds to shreds...

wrong forum. This is going to get punted to House Rules section fast.
Probably reason why no-one has responded.

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 16

No offense, but this is far from balanced as a PC race.

You spent all the points giving them a very powerful base, then try to make up for the blandness of the base race by giving them feats far stronger than any race has access to.

I'd definitely stick with the +2 to two stats -2 to one (or +2 to one stat) payout.

Of course, balance is relative. If everyone is using this race and you adjust challenges accordingly? Go for it.

I have to agree with Petty Alchemy on pretty much everything.

Having such huge bonusses to ability scores is generelly not a good idea, if balance is a concern.
While it is fine to have a race that favors non-str builds, it shouldn't do it so immensely.

Being Tiny is great for any non-martial character, and with that dex, you are going to have wizards with AC above 20 without any effort.

If I were you, I'd reskim it completely, changing A) the ability score to standard, and B) building it as a small race instead.
