Rule of Fear - Ardeal

Liberty's Edge

Hey All,

Under the description of Ardeal (specifically under the section about Langitheath), it has the following paragraph:

"Some travelers tell stories of passing near the estate and seeing small figures capering amid the fields, or of encountering strange children with eyes as cold and blue as flax flowers."

Anyone have any suggestions what these might be?

Children of the Corn?

I was hoping for some type of creature and what book, but OK. Looks like I need to watch that movie again!

I doubt you'll find too many direct monster analogues in the descriptions in that book, actually. I think Wes was usually going for either shoutouts to classic horror movies and literature, or else just plain creepy original stuff. Not too many allusions to actual existing PF monsters.

'Course, that just means that they can get stated up whenever someone writes a killer Langitheath module. ;)

Could just be ghosts, perhaps children's ghosts.

Or some kind of fey creatures.

Unless more is said officially about them, you're at your own discretion.

The description of the eyes makes me think it was a shout-out to Village of the Damned.

Liberty's Edge

I think its a homage to both. I think I have an idea with Redcaps. Might just need to be re-skinned...

Its at this time I wish that the Advanced Bestiary was available for Herolab.
