Making a Gobby, need some brainstorming companions

Homebrew and House Rules

My old GM has dusted off the ol computer files, and is bringing everyone back for a Round 2 on Pathfinder.

Previous games I have done, I've always been a spellcaster of some sort. This is partially because I'm one of the few that have the patience to learn about all the applications and implications of all the various spells compared to normal combat. That aside, I've found an urge to use Goblins of Golarion to make my next character. While brainstorming ideas, I had thought about making a Goblin that is able to mount various animals.

Through my research, I've found the available options being Druid, Ranger, or Paladin. Considering I'm trying to lean away from spellcasting for once, Druid's off the list, leaving Paladin and Ranger. While the Paladin with the Beastmaster Subtype has some wonderful aspects, I am curious about the comparison with a Ranger based around animal companions, and also the fact that a ranger could potentially get a flying mount.

With all this said, what would you go with, main class, subclass, potential multi-classing, for a pet companion based goblin? What kind of feats are insta-gets?

Maybe try Beast Rider Cavalier going into Mammoth Rider?

Or Ranger works. Though I think you need Boon Companion to Match up with the Druid.

A Brood Summoner could have an interesting combo.

It mainly depends of what type of campaign you are in.

first of all i had such shudder inducing thoughts when i read this line ugh...but back to acting like an adult, i second the mammoth rider, i think having a massive Arsinotherium mount would be all kinds of awesome.

I was going to suggest Archery path Ranger with Roc animal companion and Boon Companion.

Scarab Sages

Goblin on a Dire Bat. 'Nuff said.

Cavalier.

Death From Above (feat).

Well as of currently there is no knowledge of what the campaign is going to be like, whether it is going to be indoors in tight spaces, or outdoors in the wilderness. As a result, as much as riding ginormous mounts would be awesome, it may have limited applications. Having a medium, POSSIBLY large sized mount would be for the best in my opinion.

Same as previous, not too sure on the environments. Might not be able to constantly squeeze a big Arsinotherium through every little corridor. The idea is very tempting however.

I am rather fond of this idea.

Death from Above is a WONDERFUL feat for aerial combat, however the Cavalier has an issue... the Beast Rider cannot choose a mount that is not capable of bearing his weight, has fewer than four legs, or has a fly speed.

Well, from all the feedback so far, I am thinking of going with a Ranger with the subtype Beastmaster.

Reading how animal companion works, however, it seems I would be unable to get a companion until level 4 due to the animal companion being equal to the ranger level -3. This can be somewhat nullified due to Boon Companion, however I noticed the ability that they get at 12th level, Strong Bond. In the case that I did take Boon Companion earlier, would I be able to allocate the levels to where the companion that the feat is applying for would have, for instance, 6 levels allocated to him, and then 6 levels to another creature, causing the one with the boon to be treated as though it were level 10?

If I am going to be riding these companions, what other feats should I be taking into consideration, as well as skill investments? Currently thinking of getting a Roc as well as a Wolf for different terrain purposes.

Goblin on a Giant Gecko.

I once played an Goblin who was riding a giant Scorpion. What about that or some other Vermin?
It was a Druid, but it would work with Beast rider too, if your DM allows it.
