Re: Infernal healing, and making spells that grant fast healing by drawing from other sources

Silver Crusade

It seems to me that over the past couple of years, there has been an innovative new arcane spell making its way through Golarion Grimoirs. There is an Arcane Spell that gives a target creature Fast healing. In short an arcane spell that can be used by sorcerers and wizards that can heal.

We all know this spell as Infernal Healing and Greater Infernal healing. All you have to do is to call upon the powers of hell (Asmodeus) in order to do this.

I wonder if Nethys might not have taken note of this. I wonder if it might be possible to research a spell to call upon the divine power of Nethys to duplicate this effect of infernal healing and grant Fast Healing?

I was just musing that Infernal Healing was just the sort of arcane innovation that Nethys might be interested in. Perhaps with the requirement of having a drop of say troll blood. I would hazard a guess that not all arcane casters would want to call upon the powers of hell for fast healing.

Anyways what do you all think?

I think yes and no.

It could be done, and your reasoning is sound enough flavorwise to do it. As homebrew, I would be all for it.

Personally, I really don't hope such as spell enters the rules. I prefer healing to be the realm of divine magic.
Yes, infernal healing is an exception. However the whole evil element of the spell limits the use of it. I like the whole "this magic comes with a price", which would be lost by introducing general wizard healing spells.
