We've heard a lot of concern from people who want to switch reward levels, but don't want to lose their place in line. We want to make sure everyone has a chance to get into the best reward level for them. We looked at the numbers pretty carefully, and we believe it will only stretch our enrollment slots by about 1000 people to offer this benefit to the Crowdforger pledges up to $1 million.
We're going to allow all Crowdforger pledges received before the $1 million milestone into the first month of Early Access. So go ahead and switch levels around however you wish over the next day or so, and don't worry about losing your place in line. Once we hit $1 million, the normal system will be back in effect.
Nice! Loads of good stuff!

No offense to the Goblinworks team. But, wouldn't it be easier to just give all kickstarters at the $35 level or higher all the daily deals and the shieldmate benefit instead of having to program a system to handle this and everyone is just going to find someone to swap with anyways? Unless, we can save this benefit until after the game is released.

Question on the mechanics - the writeup says that a shieldmate receives all daily deals from the date their sponsor signed up. Technically, that would mean that someone who signed up for the $1000 crowdforger level or higher would only 'pass on' daily deals from the date they signed up. Was that the intent or should it rather say that they pass on all daily deals that they themselves receive (which, for $1000+, is all of them regardless of sign up date).

The shieldmate item just doesn't seem all that clear to me.
Adventurer and Crowdforger Reward Bonus - Invite A Friend: ShieldmateWe want to encourage backers to entice their friends to join the Kickstarter. In the after the project ends you'll be able to link to a friend's account, and if that friend accepts, you and your friend get a special benefit. Pledges for Buddy and Guild level rewards get 2x and 6x accounts, respectively, that you will be able to allocate as you see fit (and there is no need to worry, there's no rush).
Characters on your Kickstarter accounts will bear the Shieldmate Mark. Any time two or more characters with the Shieldmate Mark are in a party, everyone with the Shieldmate Mark will gain a synergy bonus. In addition, your friend will be awarded all the Daily Deals as of the date you first pledged to back the Kickstarter. Each backer will only be able to invite one Friend and accept one invitation, which will be permanent (but you can change your invite if your friend request is denied).
Will you need to invite someone to be your shieldmate before Early Enrollment, before Open Enrollment, or will this option remain indefinitely after that?
Do my characters have the shieldmate mark before I link to another account, or only after?
Since it says "Each backer will only be able to invite one Friend AND accept one invitation", that sounds like A can invite B, and if B also happens to be a backer, they could then invite C. Player B has now accepted AND invited once.
Does accepting the invite give you a pack of Daily Deal items even if you already have some or all of the items?

@Keovar - You can wait forever to make an invitation
Your characters only gain the Shieldmate Mark once you have completed an invite/accept link with another account.
You can only make one offer or accept one offer. A>B>C>A is not OK. Only A>B.
You don't get duplicates. You just get the earlier start date of pair of accounts.

You can only make one offer OR accept one offer.
I think the reason this question keeps coming up is that the text on the Kickstarter home page says 'and' instead of 'or'. Checking again, it still says "Each backer will only be able to invite one Friend AND accept one invitation".
Thank you for the clarification. ☺Elminster000 Goblin Squad Member |
If I were to upgrade my pledge level from adventurer to crowdforger now, will I lose the daily deals I have accumulated prior to today? I remember reading that this was the case, but since you are offering an incentive to switch, I wanted to be sure how things are working.
Also, if I purchase the extra player pack addon does that come with all of the daily deals, or just another set of the ones I am already eligible for?
My apologies if this information is stated elsewhere.

My understanding is that you will not lose your place in line for daily deals:
"Once you are a backer at $35 Adventurer level or more, you'll get every Daily Deal from that day on - there's no further action you need to take."
I haven't seen anything to indicate an additional Adventurer Pack will change the amount of your daily deals.

As Being says.
You'll keep it: The timestamp of your pledge at the requisite level is used for the daily deal, so you're fine as long as you pledge upwards and do not dip below the min level, which would reset it.
