Buying Boons on the Chronicle Sheet?

I overheard something recently in which players thought they could buy a boon (with PA) off a chronicle sheet that was crossed off because we did not fulfill the prerequisites in game.

Feast of Sigils Spoiler:

The scenario was 4-10, Feast of Sigils, and we had some issues during the play of the scenario and no one got the boon of the profane sigil wafer. +2 profane bonus to any stat for a year is crazy awesome, and even my CG cleric of Cayden was willing to go to CN for it.

I couldn't find anything in the Guide, nor in a general search of the forums regarding buying these type of boons. I do somewhat recall seeing a boon which specifically said could be bought with PA, but that was probably a one-time specific thing.

As far as I can tell, this isn't legal, and the only way for us to get the boon now is to run the scenario, but even then it can't be put on the same character.

Any thoughts?

I haven't played the specific scenario you mentioned, but if something's crossed out on a chronicle sheet, it's not available to that PC.

There was nothing on the specific chronicle sheet that said it could be bought.

Rats of Round Mt p2 gives you a boon for free if ryou meet certain prereqs. If you do not, it is purchasable with Prestiege. It is specific to that boon though and not a general rule.

Unless the boon specifically advises you can purchase it with PP, you are not able to. Without a copy in front of me, I'm only 99% sure, but for 4-10, if you didnt receive the wafer in game and it is crossed off your sheet, you are not able to pay any amount of PP to obtain the boon.

Also, as to your last question, yes you would have to GM the scenario to obtain the boon and it would have to go to a different character.

Thanks, I just wanted to be sure, and to let the other players know. I believe most of them have played Rats part 2, so they probably got the idea from there.
