Quote:

You Have What You Hold:

In contrast to many other civilizations on Golarion, this freedom draws a moral distinction between robbery and mere stealing. Taking something by force is considered acceptable, even begrudgingly praiseworthy. Burglary, on the other hand, is punishable under common law. The difference is in allowing a victim the ability to resist, the opportunity to face his or her robber, and to plan for repossession if so desired. This allows for a rough honesty, letting Riverfolk know and face their enemies.

So fear not any moral dilemma you may mistakenly hold... Come join us in the "Praiseworthy" profession of banditry.

The UnNamed Company is also planning on being a new player friendly, training, charter company. Teaching new players the ropes of General PvP, Banditry and Thievery, and advanced PvP training for settlement raids. We also have a major division dedicated to those players looking to become Assassins.

Bump!!

Bluddwolf wrote:

I just wanted to put the stomp down on any misguided and unauthorized ideas that the UnNamed Company will be a venture company, charter company or shadow company of any charter company / settlement.

The UnNamed Company is an independent, venture company, and is fully dedicated banditry, theft and assassination.

Very early on, like DAY ONE!!!, I have made no bones about it. I want to steal your stuff!! It's not because I'm mean spirited, or I want to pee in your cereal. It is because I get a thrill from engaging in meaningful PVP, and player theft is my vehicle.

Some may feel that this has painted a "big, red, target" on our backs. As a venture company, The UnNamed Company is open to all adventurers to come and go as they please. We do not hide our intentions, and so we have nothing to fear of spies, or of players coming and going from our ranks. Being a bandit, dedicated to PVP, and a life on the fringe is not meant for the weak of heart or the sound minded. Being a member of the UnNamed Company also requires that you embrace the freedom to act in your own self interest.

That last point may be alien to your thinking. The UnNamed Company is not your traditionally run guild. Its foundation is Greed and Freedom. The UnNamed Company will have no settlement that it is tied to. It will have no friendship that is not contracted for. There will be no safety from our raids, unless we are under contract. We will take a contract to work against any settlement, large or small. Our only loyalty is to the coin, and the condition of freedom that it can buy. Yes, gold can buy freedom of action.

Before this becomes too much of a wall of text. Short version:

1. We are independent

2. We are a threat

3. We are in your face about it

4. We want your stuff

5. We are here to provide the PFO community its boogey man.

We are the shadow behind the tree, or down the alley way. When we rob you, was it because we were bored? Was it because you were our independently chosen target? Or, did someone you know hire us to attack you? Was our employer, your greatest known rival? Or, was it your second-in-command, trying to show you are a weak leader and can't protect your own assets?

Food for thought.. LOL

Copied from the PAX Meet and greet thread as I felt it is better served here. Now to add my own.

I agree whole heartedly with Bluddwolf about the direction we are intending for this CC/VC/whatever it is called. Our "Merry band of Misfits" has always been upfront and open about our position in PFO and our intentions. After all, in order for all you "good guys" to get some meaningful PVP, you need bad guys right? We are simply stepping forward and taking that role. We WANT the target on our backs and will enjoy the challenge of "operating" within "your" territory and getting away with it.

On a more personal note, as an assassin, I love the idea that the mask gives me "protections" from death curse and bounties, but at the same time I almost am tempted to NOT wear my mask so I can let it be known that I killed you. I am attempting to conceive a way for GW to integrate a "signature" system so that I can leave a calling card of sorts on the body that I killed so that everyone knows who killed them, even though I was in disguise and/or wearing the mask.

The main point from Bludd's post and one I would like to reiterate is that while everyone knows WE are the bad guys and WE are out to kill/rob you, we intend to function very rarely of our own accord. Instead, it is our desire to be "guided" by our "employer" and it is that "Employer" that will remain discreet and unknown. Bludd gave some suggestions and ideas. Let me add a few of my own.

Someone wants a promotion within their own ranks? Call upon my services and I will kill them, freeing the position for the person seeking the promotion. However, no ties will ever (from my end at least) link my actions back to said person.

Our hope is that we are clarifying our role in PFO so that everyone knows who we are and what we stand for.

One last thing, To quell any idea that we intend to grief or have anything similar to that, that is not our intention and we will be monitoring our contracts to prevent such actions from occurring. We stand with any and all, regardless of affiliation or alignment, that stand against greifers. Our actions will be well within the means and intentions that GW has set for us, while remaining within our own goals of following the coin, no matter the direction or target.

The UnNamed Company is still open for recruits. If you are interested in banditry, assassination or smuggling / fencing stolen goods, put in an application at:

Apply Here!

We have three divisions, one of which is primarily focused on non combat ( trade / crafting / exploration). The other two are obviously, Banditry and Assassination / Information Brokers.

We will enter into contracts that can be structured in a variety of terms.

1. Banditry Raids against your rivals.

2. Protecting your merchant / gatherer interests from us or other threats.

3. Assassinations of your rivals.

4. Wars (offense or defense).

5. Smuggling / Blockade Running.

These are the types of things I expect to do in the game. I have been eyeing your CC for a while. I signed up on the forums and also have 2 buddies that will want to go where I do.

Your application has been received and processed. Your recruit status will last for about a week, and then you will either be promoted to Operative or languish a recruit for a bit longer. If you don't make it the next round, you will be granted Visitor status.

Have your friends sign up soon, so we can have you all in the same cycle.

From the shadows you emerge to express interesting in our "sevices." The shadows reach to you and a blade is at your back. "What...is...your...desire?" A shadowy and bone-chilling voice echoes into your ear. How you answer could very well determine the rest of your life.....

Considering Xeen is a Human, and you are a Halfling, you might very well be whispering into his butt cheek!

Goblin Squad Member

hey now.....I never said I was gonna be a Halfling. Only that when I came up with the name "Milo Goodfellow" it was given to a halfing rogue, who BTW was a NG rogue and used his skills to help people. Speaking of which, I should really change the name. I think I will be Milo's evil cousin or something. Maybe no relation at all...especially since halfings won't be in for a bit. (Mumbles something about stupid gnomes and by 4 or 5 votes....) I was thinking elf....but do I really wanna be a fairy??? Mostly depends on how they bring the races into PFO. If it is strictly TT rules, then Elf, though human does get the extra feat.....Damn choices!!!

Goblin Squad Member

And besides, your messing with my "Welcoming the new guy" routine.....

Well, keeping this thread on track, The UnNamed Company is is still open to recruitment.

Although the game is still at least 12 months away from closed beta (EE), and many of our prospective members are waiting until that day gets closer, it is not too early to become a part of our community or the PFO community as a whole.

To pass the time we are playing a number of other games. We also spend a great deal of time on the PFOFan Team Speak, and I highly recommend stopping in for a chat.

I shan't join and you can't make me.

Bandits are naughty people and you shall all have to take a long hard look at yourselves.

Goblin Squad Member

@Sadurian

Actually, though we often clash, Bluddwolf and UNC are about the best bet for a bandit organization if you are into that sort of thing. I believe that he and his merry fellows will have quite an exciting life. I also believe, even though he avows chaos, he will be among the most honest and honorable out there.

In short, if you get robbed, pray it is Bluddwolf.

Goblin Squad Member

Hey, I'm going to play CN so I'll probably change my mind if I get bored with making potions.

Sadurian wrote:

So am I. I'm guessing that you may be under the false assumption that banditry (robbery) or theft is general is "evil". It is not in the context of PFO, and more specifically banditry in the River Kingdoms is almost a praiseworthy profession.

The Unnamed Company is still seeking those who wish to provide a meaningful and purposeful use for caravan guards and "protection" fees. Please see the OP for website and details.

Leaving for vacation (be back on July 13), so be prepared for bad postings from my IPhone.

The UnNamed Company is still recruiting, even in my absence, and will be in the capable hands of my "Second" Milo Goodfellow.

We are recruiting players who are willing to put themselves out there as wanting to play the "bad guy", and to vigorously advocate for what we cherish the most... The acquisition of wealth!

We are particularly looking for Bandits, Assassins and Smugglers (fences). We are very active on our own forums, here on these forums, in the PFOFan Team Speak channel, and in several MMOs.

We have recently joined a group of PFOFan TS members in LotRO, and we play on Tuesday nights.

Join the UnNamed Company Here!

I'll make early enrollment. Wasn't a sure thing, but finally got a job and chipped in $75 to upgrade my brother's account to $175.

That is great news, I hope to see both you and your brother in the PFOFan TS, on the UnNamed Company's forums and hopefully in Lord of the Rings Online, where a few if us are starting to play as a group.

Is LOTRO free to play? Nvm, I'll just check on interwebs.

I played LotRO for a night. It was ok, but that was many years ago.

LOTRO is free to play and you don't need to pay real money to upgrade or improve. I haven't played for a while, but most of my real cash input was for cosmetic stuff and additional character slots.

Hogrim - hobs -dwarf hunter
Hebeing - being - hobbit guardian
Hargun - pagan - dwarf minstrel
Molarae - harad - human hunter
Bluddwolf - bluddwolf - human warden
Khary - Deianira - human champion

These are the confirmed PFOfan TS server participants in the LotRO group. We are likely going to set up our own kinship, call it Pathfinder something or other and it will be under the leadership of Hobbs or Pagan, perhaps both since this was their idea.

I would like to have more UNC members to participate to gain more community exposure fir our members. Why? Because I want the PFO community to understand that while we are cutthroat bandits in PFO, we are also just a bunch if gamers looking to have fun and build a community.

Levels?

Goblin Squad Member

I think I heard someone say they are in the lvl 10 range...... I have a level 6 burglar but have been busy with stuff.

Goblin Squad Member

Fortunately/Unfortunately the server you play on is my old stomping grounds. I could create an alt to play with you guys until you are near my level (level 31), but that sounds too much like honest work to me, and I would rather be chasing lasses, livening up taverns, and employing my talents.

In the meantime I could throw some coins your way if you are looking to acquire a kinship hall, and I do have some talent with a needle as closely as that may resemble honest work, I can still get you guys outfitted. It's a funny story that...

I was out for some fresh air, hanging off the side of a nobelman's manor one night when I decided to be sociable and go inside for a chat. But got a tear in my finest trousers slipping through the window. Well once I was inside things got even worse. I met a merry little lass with a sparkly green eyes and hair as red as fire. And somehow in the process of talking to her about the values of chasity my shirt got torn off. Obviously I needed to go find a new shirt, so I set out to do so promptly... the next morning. Some of her father's guards saw me as I was demonstrating how to repel out of her window. They apparently thought I would be a good sparring partner so I taught them a few moves. After a particularly spectacular demonstration of how to dismount a charging lancer I decided to borrow his horse for a morning ride while his friend debated with me about taking my coat as collateral. Well about 50 paces later at a good gallop I convinced his friend that wasn't nessacary with a reassuring close fisted pat on his nose. He let go but the darn brute tore it in the process.

I had a midafternoon appointment inspecting mattress durability with one of the maids at a nearby inn but I almost had to cancel because apparently the doorman didn't like the state of my attire, or was it my unfortunate resembance to the man the local lord was hunting?

Anyhow, that is when I learned to sow. Later that night they found the doorman in his small clothes, bound, gagged, and sewn into a sack with the top sewn shut. And the maid was ended up tearing my clothes that looked much like the doorman's

You would be welcome to join and I think you might find it better to start fresh. You are only about four or five hours behind the group.

1. Primary Venture Company: The UnNamed Company

2. Secondary Venture Company: Bandit / Assassin Training Company. UNC NCO or Officer Choice with some approval required.

3. Chartered Company: Limited to, if and when UNC takes Settlement War contracts.

We are trying to respond to the ever shifting definitions of charter companies, venture companies and settlements. With multiple characters and potential multi boxing, all companies will have to consider venture companies having transient membership.

Due to this, one of the UNC venture companies will be dedicated to training PFO's future Bandits, Assassins and Smugglers (Think of The EvE University equivalent in PFO, only for criminals). The cream of the crop and most trustworthy will be promoted into the Primary Venture Company.

One thing I can say from playing Eve. Building up a Settlement will be a grind... If you want PVP and all the fun with no grind.

Avoid that and join us.

Then again, if we get paid we may have to destroy a settlement or three!! That can be a grind too, but you will get paid for it lol.

We don't have any spies, we don't need them. We've Ben infiltrated by a spy, if you even want to call it that. He was not very good at it, did not get beyond our lowest full member rank and even if one gets further, would learn nothing that we are not already public about.
