Yautja (Predator) Custom Race

Homebrew and House Rules

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Tried to put town these guys that almost everyone knows (or can websearch for in a blink).

Humanoid - 0 RP
Medium - 0 RP
Specialized (+2 Str, +2 Con, -2 Cha) - 1 RP
Xenophobic (Yautja language only) - 0 RP
Ancient Foe (Aberrations) - 3 RP
Natural Armor (Improved) - 2 + 1 RP
Silent Hunter - 2 RP
Stalker - 1 RP
Yautja Vision - 0 RP - Special: Yautjas' eyes capture only a limited spectrum, and as such they cannot distinguish colors in the same way most other races do. Yet, that particular spectrum, allows them to consider the light level of any area they see as if it was one step higher, up to bright light.

Well, without technology (and especially their masks) they do lose much, but whatever...

weren't they vocal mimics too, i seem to remember at least from the first movie, one imitating one of the soldiers laughing before blowing itself up.

Linguist fits better. Other than that Dot.

Grand Lodge

I think the mimicry was from the tech. They showed alot of HUD stuff in the second movie and analyzing the little girls voice and the gangster in the opening sequence was done there.

Also... Want some candy?

The analysis is simply for the Wearer to learn the language.

Most Predators would be High Level Rangers with lots of Magical Gear in Pathfinder.

Remember they are a Dying Race. At least if you go by the Book adapted for the original concept.

They could only go on Hunts once they mastered all their Equipment. And how to survive. Quite literally tested by being dumped onto an Alien Hive World for them to survive for a Full Year of their time. Which equates to 10 Earth Years.

Well, certainly vocal mimicry wasn't one of the major traits they're known for. How often did they use them? Once per movie? And for no practical purpose too.
About Linguist or Xenophobic... in the movies (actually, I didn't watch the two or three more recent ones, so dunno about what's shown in them) they emit no vocal sound at all, except the above mentioned mimicry, so technically one could even argue that they don't even have a language of their own. It would make little consinstency, though. Yet, on average they surely don't bother learning other languages other than their own.

In the original story they would wear clothing to hide amongst Humans and such cultures.

They learned the local languages to be able to find their prey.

It should be noted that in the original short story they were bounty hunters not trophy hunters.

If I'm not mistaken they didn't create the Xenomorphs either, I think they were found and they implemented them into their rituals. Though I could be wrong. I'm just going by what is in the comics. I never read the short story, now that I know there is one I will read it as soon as I find it.

Dunno about that; in Predator and Predator 2, and, as far as I remember (because it was so bad that I only watched it once), Alien vs. Predator, they didn't talk at all (except, again, the minimal pointless interaction of above) and showed no sign of even barely understanding human language or having interest in doing it.

Shouldn't they be large? Or have something like a goliath's powerful build? Remember the hand-to-hand fight at the end of predator?

The mimicry has two roles. The first is to intimidate, like in Predator (the laugh). The other is like a human duck hunter, as a call. That use isn't as useful on humans due to its limited quality, but several baddies use this tactic.

Powerful Build is around a 4RP Trait.
Oversized Weapons is around a 2RP Trait.

The Movies BUTCHERED the Short Story's World.

And Is a Five Chapter & 439 Page Novel still considered a Short Story?

It actually states that the "Predators" are Bounty Hunters that find anything that breaks Intergalactic Accords. The "Xenomorphs" are a Plague/Pest/Scourge to the Intergalactic Council. The "Predators" have made hunting them down into a past-time & right of Passage.

They are also an Artificial Race. The story follows a Young Predator sent to take out a small hive of the Xenomorphs, that was being smuggled as a Weapon to be used in a war, and to capture the Smuggler Dead or Alive.

Though since their tech can revive a Body as long as it has been preserved in some manner.

I can't find the Author or Title. The copy I have is horribly degraded...

I think I remember reading in one of the comics that the Xenomorphs were created by a race that were like humanoid elephants. In one of the comics a member of that race walked into a meeting of some kind and blew the whole place up with him still inside.
Oh, and a human was only recognized as one of the Predators only if they proved them self either by saving one of them or defeating one. And they were treated as second class at best.

According to the Short Story:

Xenomorphs (the black aliens) were biotech weapons created by a race that was on the vurge of killing themselves off via Nuclear War.

Predators were created by an Alliance of Planets and Species to enforce their Laws.

A Non-Predator would only be treated with respect if they saved one of them or defeated one of them. To be counted Recognized and treated as one of them they must undertake the Ascension Ceremony. (10 Earth Years on a Xenomorph Hive World)

Ok, cool. Also, I was going by the comics and what a friend of mine (who is a huge Alien and Predator fan) has told me.

Wait there are comics!?

Yeah, there are Predator comics and Alien VS Predator. There is also Predator VS JLA and Predator VS Top Cow (though mainly Witchblade and The Darkness). Oh, and Aliens VS Green Lantern.

In the ones with Top Cow, I do believe they try to experiment on The Darkness which in turn he slaughters them.

Nice... So I am guessing DC Comics?

DC Comics and Top Cow (or Image's step brother, which I like to call it).

Sweet!

jackie estacado versus xenomorphs...i need that comic book like i need air!!!

Total Anti-Hero Face Off!

Ok, the name of the series is called Overkill and it deals with Witchblade – Aliens – Darkness – Predators And it was Dark Horse and Top Cow/Image that published it.

That would be the Space Jockeys or Architects (I'm pretty sure they also created Humans and Predators). If you haven't seen Prometheus you should... It's a Loregasm!
