The Saint - Oracle Archetype

Homebrew and House Rules

Saints are charismatic people chosen by deities to perform great works upon the world and to demonstrate their god's power. Like many oracles they are often mistaken for madmen or madwomen until their granted powers prove otherwise. All saints are capable legitimating their saint by performing three great miraculous acts. These acts are usually confirmed by the churches who share their god or goddess.

Domain Mystery

A saint must choose a cleric domain power in place of a revelation a total of three times. They are chosen at 1st, 7th, and 15th level. Each domain must belong to her deity. If her deity lacks a sufficient number of domains then she choose a normal revelation in its place.

Do they have to be from different Domains? It seems a little reatrictive for no real purpose.

Aside from that, I like the idea. The Oracle Revelations are all on par woth domain powers, so there's no power upset.

should probably specify that you still have to be the minimum level of the listed domain power, just to synch up with with the existing system a little more smoothly.
edit: in addition you should probably state they use their Charisma modifier in place of their Wisdom for these abilities.

in addition to my previous remarkes, also remember language stating that your oracle level counts as your cleric level for said abilities.

All good points. I agree with them all. Thanks for the feedback as always, guys!

totally knew what you are getting at, but i admit i am annoyingly anal about language sometimes. i think i would like to introduce a saint sometime in my next game.

Maybe it should be 8th level instead of 7th? All of the domain powers are granted at 1st and 8th level, respectively.

didn't the elemental domains, as well as some others, have their second power at 6th level?

Ah, you're right! In fact the animal domain gets a power at 4th level (the ranger companion). 8th is the most common but not the only one.

I think 8th level might still be better, though, because since that is the highest level required for a domain power, it would ensure the player could get both powers from a domain consecutively regardless of the domain.

totally agree, but i think the 15th level one should stay where it is, if only to make the increments every 7 levels. i like consistency like that.

Sure! What ever works for you guys :) I was just thinking of that nutty St. Joan of Arc and I thought "Paladin? No. She's an Oracle with the Battle Mystery!" And it took off from there. Thanks for the corrections.
