Settings for Pathfinder Modules

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I'm running a "Rise of the Runelords" Campaign, and plan on running other campaigns in the future. I want to do adventure paths on the "slow" experience track and supplement the adventures that are present in the path with side quests drawn from pathfinder modules. Problem is, not all of the modules descriptions tell me where various locations are in Golarion, or if they are meant to be generic and placed anywhere.

Does "Beyond the Vault of Souls" start anywhere in particular?
In "Doom comes to Dustpawn", where is Dustpawn?

Scarab Sages

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This is the most comprehensive list I could find (and frankly I am too tired right now to do one myself...).

If you don't mind pdf modules, the current season of Pathfinder Society Scenarios is based on Thassilon, aka ancient Varisia. With a little work most of them do fabulously as sidetrecks for RotRL.

Oh, I completely forgot about Pathfinder Society modules, I'll have to look them up, too, thanks!

A question about these Pathfinder Society Modules: When they say the levels are a range, from like 1-5, does that mean it takes characters from level 1 to level 5, or characters of level 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 can play in it?

Scarab Sages

The latter, more or less...

Sovereign Court

You can move them around a fair bit but not all of them (Pact-Stone Pyramid is very Osirian).

Definitely Varisian is Seven Swords of Sin (set in Kaer Maga), unfortunately 7SoS is a famous grind.

Godsmouth Heresy is set in Kaer Maga.

Feast of Ravenmoor is Varisian, Conquest of Bloodsworn Vale too.

Academy of Secrets is set in Korvosa.

Murder's Mark is set in Varisia.

The Harrowing is perfect for Varisians.

Dawn of the Scarlet Sun is set in Magnimar.

Crucible of Chaos can go anywhere with mountains.

Beyond The Vault of Souls can start anywhere.

Realm Of The Fellnight Queen can easily drop in.

Shore to Sea could be near Korvosa.

Curse of the Riven Sky just needs mountains, really.

Tomb of the Iron Medusa can go anywhere with wilderness.

You can drop Deepmar off the Varisian coast pretty easily.

The Moonscar? You can get to space from Varisia as easily as anywhere.

You should also look into the Wayfinder issues.. a free fanzine for Pathfinder here on Paizo.com. Issue 7 is a "look back" on the anniversary, and offers some plug-in material for Rise of the Runelords (as well as other early advantures and APs).
