So I came up with this concept of an escape artist, Harry Houdini style. But I need some ideas. I thought of the easy ones like static bonuses to the skill used for an escape artist (like escape artist for example), but I wanted something more creative than just that. The only actual ability I came up with was the ability to magically create a key a small number of times per day.
What I am looking for in prereq's is:
able to cast first level arcane spells
at least 5 ranks in escape artist and disable device
has Trapfinding class feature
This should give a wide enough range of mixable classes (when you include archetypes in the mix), that it shouldn't be to difficult to attain this class. As such, I don't want it to have any amazing abilities to it that will have people dipping, just enough to make people interested in a character designed along this path.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

As it is a PrC, you might as well let the character add his level to escape artist checks, and (just for kicks) his CMB to escape grapples.
I think the Trapfinding requirement should be discarded.
An ability to "escape"AoOs would be helpful, such as granted by a bonus to AC against such or from abilities granted by a point pool, or possibly as a bonus to acrobatics/tumbling checks. This may or may not fit what you have in mind.

1) I had that thought as well, but you can use Escape Artist to escape grapples anyway, so it felt redundant.
2) The trapfinding is a requirement only so that it can be refined to make sure that they can disable magical locks. Its more of a reminder to me.
3) Doesn't really fit, but thanks. It does, however, give me a concept for a different prestige class.

I like. I can limit it, to make sure that its not overpowered, by making it 5 ft once per day. Put it in at the final level and say that he/she can choose whatever they're carrying to take or leave behind.
I get this image of someone chained up in a jail cell, then they're outside the door as the chains hang suspended before clattering to the floor.

Evasion and improved evasion-- possibly some extra abilities to add to the character's ability to make Reflex saves.
Since spellcasting is a requirement, they should gain the ability to cast Burst Bonds (APG). Perhaps it's added to their list of spells known, or they can prepare it as though it was in their spellbook. As they level they should get additional escapist spells, like Blink, Mirror Image, Dimension Door, Freedom of Movement, etc. Think about whether or not this PrC grants spellcasting levels.
Perhaps they should also gain the ability to set traps? That way if they're in a situation where there's nothing to escape, they can make their own escapes?
Houdini did all his best work once the curtain was already drawn and nobody was watching. The PrC should gain some abilities that let them work best while they have concealment, or give them a Stealth bonus.
