A revision to the master chymist prestige class and extending the mutagen

Homebrew and House Rules

Hi, I would like some advice for a revision I'm writing of the master chymist prestige class.

I'm stumped when I think about the alchemist's persistent mutagen class feature. Should I even include it in the revised master chymist? I feel like it belongs in the prestige class, but the chymist can mutate for a very long time, hours really, several times a day as it is.

For roleplaying, the persistent mutagen feature could enable an alchemist to lose days or weeks to his other self, which might sound cool to some people. But the mutagenic form is also powerful, so being able remain in the mutagenic form could eliminate the role of the unaffected alchemist entirely.

I would like any advice about this ability, or even a revision in general, that you can give me. I'm hoping to share the revision soon, and I'm ready for mixed reviews, but I need to make a decision about this first. Thanks.
