Avadon: The Black Fortress

Grand Lodge

Downloaded Avadon: The Black Fortress to my Android Samsung Galaxy Tablet yesterday. This is not a bad old school style turn-based RPG. The fact it runs well on my Tablet is really cool.

Good Old Games had GeneForge I - V on sale, so I picked it up. I then ordered Avernum: Escape From The Pit and the guidebooks from Spiderweb Software. I have yet to do much with any of the games, but they look enjoyable. I eventually want to pick up Avadon: The Black Fortress and the other Spiderweb Software games.

They sort of remind me of an indie version of Baldur's Gate or Might and Magic.

Grand Lodge

The game play is closest to the first Realms of Arkania, if anyone recalls that one.

Blade Of Destiny?!

Yay... Wait, I can't afford full version right now :(
We'll see if the demo runs on Windows 8...

Grand Lodge

Yes. Blade of Destiny. The combat grid in Abadon is very reminiscent of that game. Though the interface is much better now, as to be expected. So far there is only two PCs, unlike Realms which had a complete party.

The download for my tablet was $9.99us.

I played about halfway through Avernum VI on the ipad. It's a pretty neat old school game, but the way it blocked off regions got frustrating and I found myself backtracking a lot. I gave up and decided to wait for BG Enhanced.
