Magical instruments possible?

Hello all,
Can you make a magical instrument like you can do with a weapon or shield?

There are several magical musical instruments in the Core Rules. Could you clarify what sort of magical instrument you want? You can't really make them just like you do armor and shields, because they don't function the same way.

I was hoping that there was a way to make the string instrument into something like a +1, +2, etc which would add to a bards DC's. It seems that melee weapons can be made more powerful so why not a bards weapon.

I'd look at the old "Instruments of the Bards" from Complete Arcane from 3.5. I believe they're all product identity/non-OGL, but will still work in a Pathfinder campaign due to backwards compatibility and will give you an idea on how to make such an item as you want, or more to the point, price it. Glancing over them all, all I see is bonuses to Perform and a bonus ranging from +1 to +7 for bardic magical musical abilities but not actual spellcasting.
