So my party killed off everyone else except Orik and Lyrie. The rogue in the party has it out for Lyrie and they bound and gagged her. Meanwhile Orik helped the group in the final battle and now everyone is headed back to Sandpoint. Their trial is going to be in Sandpoint. Sandpoint is a major town so I see no reason the town would not do this. Anyways the end result will be Lyrie remanded to the Hells in Magnimar. Where Ironbriar will of course get her transfered out of prison and working for him. The groups paladin is supporting Orik and I'm going to have him serve a sentence doing a stint in the Black Arrows. So I''ve decided Sandpoint is going to convene a Grand Jury to try them. So this is where I'd like input. I'm going to use this as a mechanism to introduce more of the towns NPC's to the party. So I'm looking for suggestions for which 12 NPC's should be on the Grand Jury. Obviously
The mayor, the sheriff, Zantus, a representative of each of the 4 noble houses, Madam Mvashti and other suggestions?
The other thing I'd like help with is the charges leveled against them. I'd love to read of a huge list of charges. So far I've got
Conspiracy to commit murder
Conspiracy to commit arson
Aiding and abetting the enemy (Goblins)
Consorting with Demons
High Treason against the Lord Mayor of Magnimar
Anyone else got any good ones I can throw in there? Thanks

You know Lyrie could come up with the "I was hired to research the Thassalonian ruins defense. That I know nothing about these other plans." What proof does you party have that she was a part of any conspiracies? The fact she was at Thistletop? Is that enough to convict?
"Consorting with Demons", now that one might stick, if Nualia is determined to be a Demon. But again Lyrie could just shrug and say, "I was hired to do this job and nothing more. Can I be blamed for the actions of my employer?"
Also Orik has a thing for Lyrie. If Orik could help to get Lyrie off, that would help him in his pursuit of the selfish little wizard.
As for a trial, any business owner or prominent citizen would be suitable for a Grand Jury:
Headmaster of the Turandarok Academy Ilsoari Gandethus
The jeweler Maver Kesk.
The weaponsmith Savah Bevaniky.
The tanner Larz Rovanky.
The owner of the general store Ven Vinder.
The alchemist Nisk Tander.
The bard Cyrdak Drokkus.
Guildmaster Aesrick Battlehorn.
Sandpoint was made well with a lot of rich and interesting NPCs to pick.
On a more personal note, in our campaign Lyrie and Orik both are actually with the party. Lyrie has proven to be a very fun and interesting NPC to play.
Let us know how it turns out.
Cheers,

Well I have one player that wants to murder Lyrie. In the battle where they captured Lyrie the party was split on either side of the hallway trap. Lyrie shattered that players masterwork rapier and then turned on her employer (Nualia had 1HP) and begged for mercy. Also Nualia killed that players sister (another PC who wanted to roll up someone new). So Zenovia the rogue has nothing but, hate for Lyrie (oh and sin points too). It's just to good and juicy not to have her come back to mess with that player.
Oriks deal was that yes he has a thing for Lyrie but, he was pretty close to just leaving anyways as everything was too complicated. In fact he yielded on the condition Lyrie's life be spared. But now with one party member filled with wrath towards Lyrie he's thinking of cutting his losses.
It's also very clear Orik is just muscle where as Tsuto's journal, Nualia's Journal and the fact that she knew they were trying to dig up a Greater Barghest seems to cast much more of a darker shadow on her. Don't get me wrong the first thing Lyrie did was say I'm just a research assistant. The party did ask "What about the fact you were trying to dig up a Barghest to attack Sandpoint"

This is interting. In my campaign, the party are mostly chaotics and hold to a certain vigilante justice. They were about to execute Lyrie, when Orik plead for her life. The party eventually agreed to release her into his custody. The party would meet up with the couple again. But, that is another story.
It is fun to read the different twist and turns from one campaign to another.
I look forward to read more about the trial of Lyrie Akenja.

My group felt that they were the closest thing to law in the area and dispensed justice at the time. Lyrie was slain, despite her many appeals towards her innocence.
Orik was offered a chance to live with punishment of indentured servitude for a period of time. It was eventually brokered into a guard position in Sandpoint for a year. And finally, he became a henchman at Fort Rannick of the character that suggested punishment over death.
