Party make-up advice

Rise of the Runelords

I think we have our party pretty set, but there's been some back and forth. Its not that we're trying to min-max necessarily nor play a traditionally 'balanced' party, but we would like to have all of our bases covered.

Already I'm thinking that we're pretty light in the spell-casting department. The plan will be for Ameiko to become a permanent or semi-permanent 5th member of our group and she's been refashioned as a straight Bard.

Dwarven Ranger (Infiltrator, Two-Weapon Fighting)
Wolf animal companion and a decidedly anti-giant bent. Personality patterned off Rooster Cogburn in True grit.
Halfling Archeologist
Kind of the leader of the group but by far the least combatant, driven by his fascination with all things ancient Thassilonian.
Human Barbarian (Urban Barbarian/Invulnerable Rager)
Very high DR Bardiche-weilding bad@ss.
Human Archer
The Barbarian's younger sister.
Human Bard
Ameiko, our guest NPC and perpetual adventure hook.

Its a group of three low Charisma rough-and-tumble tough guys and then a high-charisma curiosity seeker. Ameiko would probably end up being our most diplomatic member. I think with two characters capable of buffing and healing we'll be fine in that department, but with no one capable of making the truly wonderous happen there is some concern that we don't have a full caster in the group.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Apparently, mots of the interesting and useful treasure is wizard/sorceror oriented.

And plan on wands of cure light wounds. Lots of them.
