You wish to volunteer to run games for OwlCon. Or should I say:
OwlKHAAAAN! is a gaming convention held at Rice University from February 15th through 17th, 2013. Pathfinder society will run the entire weekend, culminating with "Race for the Runecarved Key" on Sunday morning.
Pathfinder Society GM signups are now open. As always, GMing two tables(or an all-day sanctioned module) gets you a free con badge and tee shirt.

If you're coming from out-of-town, be sure to book your hotel early, as we are competing for hotel space with the NBA all-star game this year.

We do not have an official hotel, however, there is a list of hotels near Rice on the Owlcon website.

The beginnings of a schedule are up on Warhorn for GM signups. More tables will be added as I get word from Rice on venue.

Hmm. This makes a tempting weekend getaway. I'd have a chance to see some relatives and get some PFS in. Who are the GMs for the modules on Saturday?

"Masks of the Living God" will be run by Jesse Davis, one of our most talented local GMs. "Murder's Mark" will be run by Jason Shelton, a newer PFS GM I think has potential.

Got lucky on the hotel room, anything near by was booked except one hotel, same one I was at last year, which had 2 rooms left.
Edit: I am about to Advertise the Con with my local group, the incentive being they get to Yell at Mike!!!! ;)

Well that pretty much puts the nail in it for me. Looks like I'm driving down to Houston in february !!! Woot.
Now to see if I can get a few GM slots to run the new scenarios I want and find me a room (or a park bench, I'm not picky).

With GM slots near the point of "Sold Out", there is another way you can help us out and get free admission this year. We need volunteers to staff the Society sign-in desk at Owlcon.
Responsibilities include keeping the laptop safe, using it to print material as needed, handing out pregens and new society numbers, and helping with prize drawings and claims.
As with GMing, two 4-hour slots of staffing the desk earns you free admission and a con tee.

GM signups are now full.
We're using a new system this year to handle walk-in registration which will better communicate from the somewhat distant building assigned to organized play to con HQ. This will require some manpower however to manage the relevant electronic records. Volunteers to handle this are still needed, so there's still a chance to earn free admission and tee if you missed out on GM signups.

Once you indicate during your registration that you would like to play organized play, you'll get a Warhorn account to sign up on the Warhorn for PFS and LFR as I periodically process the player lists.

I certainy don't mind gunslingers as long as they keep track of ammo costs and correctly adhere to misfires.
That is a given...
Oh, and as long as they don't mind attracting attention of close by enemies with loud bangs ;-)
I am hoping my New Distance Musket will help against that, I have not tried it out yet...;)

I've been recovering from a holiday backlog and hammering out the exact nature of desk duties. An email just went out regarding this.

A friend of mine and I drove in from Austin just for the interactive. We ended up at different tables, but definitely had a blast. He won a boon that he is particularly enamored with. ^_^ Much thanks to my judge (TJ), Kelly Youngblood for organizing, Michael Brock for MCing, and everyone else for contributing to a great time.
