Mechanical Walker

Homebrew and House Rules

I'm trying to get a rough idea for stats for a special creation I had in mind for a character.

The character is a ratfolk wizard and I'm trying to build for him a small walker. Essentially a small chair with legs, all it will really do is move the standard 30ft per round and give my character something to sit on and stand a little taller.

Any ideas?

Check out the SRD Bestiary's listing for Animated Objects and for Building and Modifying Constructs. You could stat up a simple magical chair for around 2000 gp. Alternatively, you could cast Animate Object and make it permanent, but that will cost your ratfolk a lot more.

A lot of the Constructs have attacks and special abilities. That's a little more than what I'm going for.

Maybe reflavor the cauldron of flying into a giant throne of flying?

You really aren't going to get close than an animated object without house ruling though.

40 grand seems like A LOT for a platform/chair with a pair of legs with virtually no other function.

Hence why I recommend the animated object idea.

(Technically though, you would be paying for cover all the time, plus a fly speed.)

Sczarni

You could always get a riding dog-- they tend to be cheaper and they'd do basically everything you need to do. A non-combat trained dog might be a hassle once the swords come out, but it's not like you'd get proper use out of a warmount as a wizard anyway.

For flavor purposes, I'm more interested in the walker.
