Welcome to new Venture-Captain of Eugene, Oregon!

I wanted to take a minute to welcome aboard the new Venture-Captain assigned to Eugene, OR. I will let John McConnell introduce himself, advise about any websites he will utilize for coordinating, and any other information he wishes to share.

As for areas that fall within his region, he will cover the Willamette Valley corridor, which is essentially anything south of Salem, OR, to the border with California.

Welcome to the team!

Thank you! It feels great to be officially posted to this duty. In March I started up the Eugene Pathfinder Society Club with the modest intension of growing my private gaming group but now I see it as an excellent venue for growing this hobby I love (and a way to help my favorite game publisher). I started with the OD&D Blue Box rules and have been DMing/GMing ever since.

There is a local game web site I am using to coordinate which I plan to stop using in a few months. So, rather than repeat that URL here, let me suggest you email me if you want to receive my weekly newsletter. I hope to work with Alex (Portland VC) on a single Oregon wide PFS site soon.

It will be a thrill to represent Paizo at Just A Game Con in Corvallis this weekend!

Very cool to hear, I've been swapping emails with you guys for a while, I have a place up there, hopefully next time we're up that way we can catch a game.

Hi Dennis! You are officially the first person on my email newsletter list to hear the good news! An RPG Superstar top 16 is welcome at my table anytime (I am so jealous). Maybe when you come up you can help me encourage others to enter.

From your profile I see you're in Ontario Oregon! Wow, that is about as far East from me (Eugene, obviously) as you can get and still be in Oregon. Just the other day I sent Mike an email saying that the population in Eastern Oregon was too low to justify me trying to expand very far to the east of the Willamette Valley, boy do I feel silly now. We should talk over email: EugenePFSClub at gmail.com.

Top 4!?!?! Now I really am green with envy. Did you two see that Hitler video?

Oh I'll be happy to talk, but I don't necessarily think you were unwise in establishing your boundaries. Don't feel bad. I live out in between everything, and I GM and play through VTT. I took no offense.

I have never tried a VVT. Perhaps you could pull me in for a game. Also, if you have FaceTime or Skype I could pull you in to a spot on my physical table on my iPad (with the help of anther player to occasionally show you the map, me, and the rest of the players). Might be a fun disembodied experiment.
