The Hero Lab listing for the kitsune race appears to come from one of Tian Xia books and is different from that in the Advanced Race Guide.
Specifically, Hero Lab gives the kitsune the Tien and Senzar languages, and does not permit Varisian as a starting language, while the ARG version gives kitsune Common and Sylvan, and permits as starting languages: "any human language, Aklo, Celestial, Elven, Gnome, and Tengu."
How can I adjust Hero Lab to permit the latter interpretation for my Shattered Star game?

It looks like they just went with the Dragon Empires info, but you can customize the race in the editor.
Go to Tools-->Launch Editor.
In the editor, select File-->New Data File.
Select the Race tab and then click New (Copy).
Select the Kitsune from the list.
Scroll down to Languages Allowed, click Edit, and select/deselect the appropriate languages (using the Select None button makes this faster.).
Scroll down to Automatic Languages, click Edit, and select/deselect the appropriate languages (using the Select None button makes this faster.).
Deselect No Common Language?
In the Unique ID field, type in something like rKitsunARG.
In the Name field you can add a (ARG) to denote this from the original.
Click the Save button.
Click the Test Now! button (near the top). You'll be asked to name your .user file.
After the compile finishes, you should get a message that you can use the content. Click OK.
Exit the editor. You now have a Kitsune race with the ARG languages.

I have teh ARG package and the Kitsune really does have the wrong languages.
To simply add languages:
Go to Personal tab
Select Permanent Adjustment and pick "Languages known, intelligence"
Set it to 2.
Now you can add Varisian and Common easily to the starting character.
You can select Varisian even if its grey, you just have to ignore the warning.
Alternatively:
Character/Configure Hero
Scroll pretty far down and select "Unrestricted Languages" in the houserules section.
Now you have to pay attention yourself if the language is allowed or not.
Obviously he still has Tien and Senzar, to get rid of that you have to use the editor, but if you're comfortable to just ignore those two, then this way might be easier.
