Art Majors, Students: help identify a technique

Off-Topic Discussions

Maybe technique isn’t the right word.

So I was talking to an artist I highly admire this weekend at a local fair. She (the artist) does stunning colored artwork of stylized “princess”, “mermaid”, and other fantasy females. However, one of her works had a rendering of a standing female cartoon-ish girl (somewhat in the style of “Rainbow-Bright”) and the image was drawn with the girls feet turned inward.

Now I know this is a trope, and that it is used to convey innocence, particularly when the image is of a woman who is not young, but is supposed to appear young (the traditional, sexually-mature woman dressed as a school girl pose), but when we were talking about the image it seemed to me that I could almost remember that there is a specific name for this kind of artistic rendering, or am I remembering incorrectly?

Does this style of image (mature female rendered to appear innocent, but still suggesting sexual maturity?) have a specific name?

I don't know if there's a specific collegiate term for what you're describing, but the general term assigned to it would be a Lolita or faux-loli if you go by the slang term.

I just hope that this discussion doesn't draw in the community's resident aficionado on the topic. :)

"THAT's IT!" (in my best Lucy Van Pelt voice). I couldn't remeber that for the life of me, thanks.
