Salutations swell co-gamers!
Allow me to make this really short and to the point: The seventh level samurai pregenerated character, Hayato, has somehow gotten himself the feat Greater Weapon Focus. Now I see two problems with this: First, the samurai does not have the required levels and second, he would not qualify on the 8th level anyway, since the weapon expertise class feature specifies that "his samurai levels stack with any fighter levels he possesses for the purposes of meeting the prerequisites for feats that specifically select his chosen weapon". Hayato does not possess any fighter levels, correct?
Anyhow, since I'm about to use this pregen come Saturday, it'd be nice to know whether I must run this character as is or may I indeed change the feat to something else. What say you?

No answer for your first question. I believe you have to run the pregen as written, even though in this case it is to your advantage.
As to the second question, he would qualify on the 8th level for GWF. 8 (samurai levels) + 0 (fighter levels) = 8 (total levels to qualify for weapon specific feats). You can stack zero with eight, the result being zero. You do not need any levels of fighter for this to kick in.

That's...quite a stretch.
Why even word it that way then? Look at some examples of similar abilities, for instance, Martial artist monks. They have this line: "At 4th level, a martial artist may use his monk level to qualify for feats with a fighter level prerequisite when those feats are applied to unarmed strikes or weapons with the monk special quality" while the magus writeup has the following: "Starting at 10th level, a magus counts 1/2 his total magus level as his fighter level for the purpose of qualifying for feats. If he has levels in fighter, these levels stack."
Now those a clear, precise rules that result in similar inferences, instead of this fuzzy thing where everyone seems to attritube different things based on what they want, not what the text says.
Anyhow, since I have to run the thing as written I might as well count myself lucky that not everyone is so strict with their readings. :P

Not sure what "that" you were referring to, since we each made a couple comments.
Also, not sure what is unclear or fuzzy about 0+8=8. The quote is "his samurai levels stack with any fighter levels he possesses for the purposes of meeting the prerequisites for feats that specifically select his chosen weapon". Why reference "any" levels? Because he might have some, he might not. Not sure where you are seeing a requirement for fighter levels for the class ability to kick in. You seem to be inferring "what you want".

The 7th level samurai pregen has a few other errors too.
the katana as written seems to be held one handed. judging by the damage bonus. held 2 handed, he'd be 1d8+4 base, +2 from the weapon's enhancement. agreed he wouldn't have the levels to take Greater Weapon Focus. I think they goofed and should have been something like Weapon Specialization. I know you can't change a pre-gen. But if a character has it wrong, the GM has the right to make the character correct on a PC. i don't see why the same wouldn't be true on a pre-gen. Paizo should list the pregens in the FAQ section and just list there what feat should be taken in place of the (illegal) Greater Weapon Focus.
the horse in the stats is not a 7th level animal companion. and is missing the light armor proficiency bonus feat. It is trained for combat as of 4th level, and wouldn't need to take Multiattack, as the bite and hooves would all be primary attacks, at +8 to hit, the +9 listed seems to neglect that its +3bab, +5str, -1 size.
his armor check penalty is applied to his ride skill, though when riding his companion he doesn't take any armor check penalty to ride.
his melee weapons are 2 handed, but the power attack entry on the sheet would lead new players to believe they have a -2 to hit, +4 to damage, when it should be +6 to damage.
his skills are also "off"/wrong.
