So...what guide do we use until Aug 16th?

As has been pointed out in our local boards, there's currently nowhere to get guide 4.1. So, what do we use until GenCon? Without an available source for 4.1 it looks like we'll just have to use 4.2 as a legal source.

Nice corner case. I presume someone will be able to lend a copy of 4.1 to your group for the nonce... like your local venture officers.

You mean you don't have a previous copy on your computer? For shame. :)

Unless there is some reason you want to wait to update characters, I don't see the problem with using the new version going forward.

I always tag the new version with its version number. I have guides going back to the very beginning.

The new version doesn't go into effect until Aug 16. If you REALLY need 4.1, email me and I will send you a copy.

Please do not use us gettting everyone a preview copy of the new guide to talk about early, as a way to skirt the rules to create a character with the new races or the like. If this starts happening, I will be less inclined to release the Guide early next year.

Thanks for that clarification Mike. I need to undelete my copy of the previous guide. Good thing I hadn't emptied the trash folder...

It's not the creating characters that's the problem.

I have to sit here and listen to my wife complain that because she'll be judging "We Be Goblins" on the 15th, she doesn't get the boon ...

(I have no idea what she's talking about; while I have both played and run "We Be Goblins", I've never done so at a PFS table, so I've never read the chronicle sheet)

I've got both copies on my computer. I simply date new files. For instance, this one is "Pathfinder Society - Guide to Organized Play (Month 20xx).pdf".

So I have 4.1 labeled as January 2012, and now I have 4.2 labeled as August 2012.
