Has anyone else seen this hilarious adaptation of Terry Pratchett's novel of the same title? If you haven't, you owe it to yourself to go watch this made-for-tv movie. Sean Astin, Christopher Lee, Tim Curry, cult cultural references, and Pratchett's comicalized fantasy tropes abound. You don't even have to rent it, if you have Netflix instant streaming. 'Kay, I'm going to stop raving now so you can go watch it. Shoo!
PS: If you've ever seen Hogfather, don't worry; the Color of Magic is much, much better!

Uh, if Hogfather is worse I don't want to see it.
As much as I like Discworld I found the movie rather weak - while the individual scenes might be good as a whole it wasn't anywhere impressive.

Oh, I liked Hogfather well enough; knowing the same people did TCoM was the incentive to get a region-free DVD player and hit eBay for the Region 2 version of it. Have you seen Going Postal?

@ Andrew: Erm...according to imdb, David Jason plays Rincewind.
I meant Albert ... as in the guy that played Albert in Hogfather.

Well I'm sure the book is better -- as they almost invariably are.

Alas I have not, and it's not on instant streaming! I did enjoy the book immensely though.

Doh, I didn't even register Albert's name during Hogfather.

Going Postal pissed me off to no end... I LOVED the book, thought it was one of his best and then the movie took it in another direction altogether.
CoM? It felt clunky and a bit confusing to me - too chaotic I suppose.
With the other books TP 'finds' his pace and style and the results are better. That said I am now finding his last few books to be stale as he doesn't seem to find new characters.
Tiffany of 'Wee Free Men' was the last 'new' re-occurring character (one I've enjoyed) and even she piggy backs on the back of Granny Weatherwax. I absolutely hated the soccer one he put out last year.

Of recent books, I didn't care much for the football one (Unseen Something?), nor Monstrous Regiment.
But that's okay. Plenty of favourites to re-read on occasion. :)
