Are AP for DM?

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

Are the adventure paths designed for DM or player will find useful information on them? Should player get player companions instead?

Adventure Paths as far as I can tell are scenarios meant for players to go through. So technically yes, they are meant for the DM's.

There is information in them that is likely of interest to everyone, Stories and articles on gods and Monsters. But you should probly avoid flipping through them unless you have already run it or are pretty sure you wont run it.

Adventure paths are, well, adventures. Gamemaster's eyes only. While there are articles in them that might be of interest to players, best to stay out of them unless the GM gives them to you to read.

The adventure part is just for GM's but some of the extra stuff is useful to players as well. If you are interested in them. You could buy the ones you like and just don't read the adventure parts of any AP's you would like to play in or that your GM you think would like to run.

The Deity articles especially are useful to players of clerics of those gods or even just PC's that worship those gods. To get a better feel for their religion.

The player's guides to the adventure paths contain all the information the players need to create their characters.
