Re-working Nualia (spoilers)

Rise of the Runelords

Silver Crusade

So, I'm getting ready to run rise of the rune lords, and was considering re-writing Nualia up using not only ARG, but Blood of Angels and Inner Sea magic.

Beyond the race stuff, I was considering using the Divine Scion Prestige class, with "maybe" fudging prerequisites for the prestige class prerequisites for purposes of the weapon focus (allowing Bastard Sword)

I'm either planning Cleric 4/Fighter 1/Divine Scion 1 or Oracle 5/Divine Scion 1.

Mostly wanting to do this to use the class as I really enjoy the prestige class and want to use it since she's the pic for the prestige class in the book.

Any thoughts, should I just not worry about it, or should I give her a Falchion?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

James essentially said that he'd made the prestige class with her in mind, and then made a mess of the prerequisites and didn't want to give her a falchion when the art depicts her with a bastard sword and he couldn't bend the rules in an official paizo product. Most definately give her the prestige class, but I'd be wary of making her too strong for the first encounter. Perhaps if she escapes you can level her up.

What Twigs said. The art in Inner Sea Magic for the Divine Scion is a painting of Nualia.

When I converted Burnt Offerings to PF, I made her a straight-up cleric 6, and had her use a falchion. If I were to re-run, I'd make her a fighter 1/cleric 4/divine scion 1, like you suggested.

I'd also change canon to have Lamashtu's favored weapon be the bastard sword. Even the name seems to fit the Mother of Monsters.

Am I the only one saddened that she wasn't statted as an antipaladin?

I would be if the Divine Scion wasn't so cool. :P
