I just started running Kingmaker. The party is:
Human Cavalier - Fairly conventional mounted/melee.
Human Rogue (Rake) - Plans to use Monkey Island quips whenever he uses bravado's blade.
Half-elf Inquisitor - Ranged combat specialist.
Half-orc Fighter - Sword and board. May eat skulls.
The only magic in the party is the inquisitor's, which isn't a lot. Are they going to run into obstacles that will be insurmountable without a casting-focused class around?

Not really, they are going to need to stock up on alchemists fires and acids for book 2. I recommend one of them grabs leadership and a wizard or cleric cohort. A wand of cure light wounds, and lesser restoration oughta do it.
Getting into Thousandbreaths may be tricky in book 6 but an NPC Magister can help with that.
