Clerics, Deity / Favored Weapon Question in PFS

Pathfinder Society

All:

I had a question come up about character creation with a cleric for PFS, namely:

One of my players wants to play a CG cleric. They don't want to worship any PF deity and want to have the following: trickery domain, strength domain, favored weapon of longspear OR glaive OR lucerne hammer.

..Can players /not/ worship a deity and just decide on domains and a favored weapon?

I'm sure there's a black-letter rule on point, I just can't find it quickly.

Thanks for your help!

Very sadly, this is not allowed in PFS (and officially not allowed in Golarion). All Clerics (only) must have a deity.

It's under the Clerics section, Alignment, and also a few otehr places.

the only diety that I know of in PFS with Strength and Trickery would be Lamashtu, (favored weapon falchion), but as a C/E diety, a cleric of her's would be... odd. Looks like he is looking for a reach weapon from your list... not sure of any diety with a favored reach weapon...

I think there's the idea of Enlarge Person + big reach weapon = smack things across the room... but I'm only interested in the "is this legal for PFS play" aspect that the GM asked me about.

Where can I find the most complete list of /legal/ deities and their domains/weapons so I know how to resolve this in the future?

Sheylyn has glaive, but not the domains.

Officially: Core Rulebook, Inner Sea World Guide, Pathfinder Chronicles: Gods and Magic, and Pathfinder Player Companion: Dragon Empire Primer. You should also check the Additional Resources and the links on it for sub domains for minor gods.

Unofficially, I check the PathfinderWiki. It's easier to search. Although, I'm unsure if it has the newest Eastern Deities loaded from Dragon Empires.

I couldn't find specific deities in the Core Rulebook quickly; I know there's a list in the preview document (http://paizo.com/download/pathfinder/PathfinderPreview.pdf) and trying to find all of it in the "core assumption" books under an hour for this GM has been challenging..

I definitely appreciate the help and the pointers.. I used to think that knowing everything was important; knowing when and how to ask others is much better!

Check out the most recent Guide to Organized Play and the Additional Resources page for accurate information.

Check out the Inner Sea World Guide and the Book of the Damned Series for a big list.

If they are just wanting a Reach Wepaon + Stregth Domain for arge (an Ghaotic alignment), Longspear is a simple Weapon, so all Clerics can use it without Favored Weapon.

I've looked at every single thing that can grant Cleric power, and none have both Stregth and Trickery. But like I said, any Chaotic deity with Strength should do witha Longspear.

as I pointed out earlier, the only diety that I know of in PFS with Strength and Trickery domains would be Lamashtu, but a PC cleric of hers' would have to be C/N (as she is a C/E goddess).

You could also be a Separatist Cleric to get one of the Domains weaker, so you could go with Cayden for example and take Strength and a weak Trickery. I for example run a Separatist Cleric of Nivi Rhombadazzle (yeah, the gnome goddess) with domains Trickery and Travel (weakened).
