How long does it take to travel a hex in Kingmaker? I've been DM'ing for almost two years now, but currently I'm a bit puzzled by reading the speed of the armies.
I think i have always used the speed of "walking", but this:
100 warriors (3) kan traverse 2 hexes?
Questions for fellow DM's:
--------------------------
How long would it take 4 humans to walk from Oleg's to Tatzlford?
How long would it take if they had horses?
How long does it take to explore a hex?

For PCs, all the answers are in the chart on page 57 of the first book. You take the slowest speed of the party (or the slowest horse if they're all mounted), and look up how long it takes based on the type of hex they're in.
So, assuming no roads, and the most direct route, they would be crossing one plains hex and 5 forest hexes. At 30' speed, that would take them 5+8*5=45 hours to walk. At horse speeds of 40', it would be 4+6*5=34 hours. If they were exploring each hex along the way (which would be very odd, once Tatzlford has been founded), it would take them 1+2*5=11 days on foot, or 1+1*5=6 days on horseback.
Armies follow the rules on page 55-56 of book 5, as well as table 7-6 on page 172 of the core book. Basically, you figure out how fast an individual soldier can move, look up how far they can get in a day and divide by 12 to get the army's speed. They can move that many hexes of normal terrain, half that of difficult. So someone with 30' speed can go 24 miles in a day, which is 2 hexes (or one mountain hex). On horseback, they could go 32 miles, which (based on example) translates to 3 hexes per day.
Does that clarify?
