Which Gods apply?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

If I were to play a Blood God Disciple (ARG), what would be a good god to go with the archetype? Good, neutral, and evil gods please.

Orcs of Golarion mentions the cults of the orcs and their ancient tradition of shamanism.

Out of the core deities, Rovagug, Lamashtu and Gorum seem most popular for orcs who worship a single deity. Numerous demon lords could work too, with Kostchtchie and Zura being mentioned by name.

There is also the traditional, pantheistic faith of the orcs, which consists of numerous nameless dark gods, known collectively as the orc cults. Many theologists think these beings are not actual deities themselves, but concepts fulfilled by various gods. Their favored weapon is usually the falchion, and they are Chaotic Evil.

They include, but are not limited to:

The Blood God (god of anger, rage, and strength)
The Despoiler (god of lust, pillage, and plunder)
The Destroyer (god of destruction, disaster, and war)
The Dark Mother (goddess of fertility, tribe, birth, and death)
The Fire God (god of fire, destruction, and magic)
The Iron God (god of iron, siege engines, strength, weapons, and war)
The Slavelord (god of slavery, subjugation, and tyranny)
The Thunderer (god of storms, lightning, and war)

There is a lot of room for regional variants, suggestions being the Storm Lord for coastal orcs, the Burning One for desert orcs, and the Ice God for arctic orcs.

As for shamans, they are typically male (though females can assume power if strong enough), and have anywhere from one to five apprentices, which they select from the 7-year-old males of the tribe. These novices undergo an apprenticeship usually lasting around 5 years, learning the various traditions of the tribe and it's gods (both of which vary widely from tribe to tribe, and even from each generation of shaman to the next).

Some tribes possess female traditions of shamanism and mystery cults which cater to females and who usually worship the Dark Mother, though these cults aren't officially recognized by the males.

Common creatures called forth by orcs are bats, crows, lizards, rats, toads, vipers, or vultures (hawk statistics). Those with Improved familiar tend to have fiendish versions of the same animals, as well as dire rats, fire elementals, stirges, and quasits. So perhaps your summoned eidolon could look similar to some of these, or combine their features.

It should be noted that the word shaman is used in a very general sense, and clerics, oracles, summoners, or druids are capable of falling under that category.

If you're interested in learning more about orcs and their deities, I'd recommend getting a copy of Orcs of Golarion! It's a really great read for fans of orcs and half-orcs.

These are cool. I don't have Orcs of Golarion.

Could Pharasma work? or would that be a stretch?
