Throughout games there are many features in-game games, and it is hard to point to one as the most important but I believe I have identified it. From character customization this feature separates the men from the boys. It is prominently featured in crafting, combat, everything. When people see someone using this feature to it's fullest extent they say "Damn, that guy is awesome." Those without it join the ranks of ones such as Edward, Jacob, Justin Beiber, Richard Simmons, and The Freakout Kid.
I speak of course, of beards. Without them, a game is doomed to failure!!!
In all seriousness though, we do need some awesome facial hair options. I'm tired of games that don't offer the option to have a full beard, offering no facial hair at all or a couple neat fancy little trimmed up mustaches with maybe a patch of fuzz on the chin. I want to see that, "This face hasn't been touched by a razor since before you were born sonny!" kind of beard.
As long as dwarven women won't have beards, I am ok with it.

If you have beards and long hair then I should have the combat ability to grab them for bonus attack points.
I also want to be able to knock people unconscious, braid their beards or use a dye made with the prismatic spell to color your beard... and no matter how many times you shave it the beard grows back with the same color.
