Can a character lvl in the middle of a Sanctioned Module?

or only when the chronicle sheet is awarded?
5/5 **** Venture-Captain, Massachusetts—Central & West

XP and prestige are only awarded at the end of the module, via the Chronicle sheet being awarded.
