I think I want to divide the idea for trust into two different parts; favor and fear. Favor how the town in general views the PCs while fear is the overall level of desperation in the town. While the PCs will have a great deal of control over Favor, they will not have much control over the level of fear in town. Some of the changes I am using include using all of the haunts listed here. The other big change is going to be the location of the profs journal, his pocket. Lastly going to Harrowstone will be illegal except for a deputy of the sherriff and that they are going to have to earn. Kendra will start them after the WW and hopefully the spooky things will lead them to investigate Harrowstone.

Both scores will be invisible to the players but I want them as guidelines to my RP and and when to give them certain benefits.

I know that I there is no way to reduce fear on my list and I am not sure I want there to be one. I might consider social skill checks to lower the fear level but still considering. I am also not sure what to do with fear yet.

The big thing that makes favor better in my mind is that the daily loss in only if the act reclusive and meeting social obligations will gain you favor. These include an invitation to councilmen's for dinner or a request to tell a story at the bar.

Favor will begin at 20 while fear will begin at 0. The angry mob will show up when fear and favor meet.
