Special material advice

Looking to build a new special material for my home campaign called gravatite. It is an ultra dense rock found deep within the earth or within some fallen meteorites. A bludgeoning or slashing item constructed of this material counts as 1 size category larger for the purposes of damage and weight. Now I'm thinking of having it priced similarly to adamantine or mithril items but I'm not sure what the right way would be to balance the benefits of the item vs. cost. Anyone have any ideas?

Basically what you are doing is granting the weapon the equivalent of a feat (like Improved Natural Attack) which is non magical in nature. Something like that was worth roughly 10,000 gp in 3.5. It may seem steep, but remember that increase in damage ends up being multiplied on crits and various other circumstances.
