Help building a magic cane / club.

Homebrew and House Rules

So I watched Dark Shadows today, and I was intrigued by Depp's cane, and would like to build a custom cane for my Druid. But my question is, how much would it cost to create? I was thinking a normal 1d6 dmg oak club as a base, with an ivory handle. The enchantment on the club would be at will Speak with Animals, but only for canines (dogs, wolves, etc). Not a very useful weapon, but I like the flavor.

the ivory handle would simply be part of the masterwork cost, but the spell I am not sure about

Basically, you combine the pricing of a wondrous item and a magic weapon.

So, I'm thinking about 1,300 gp? (300 for the masterwork club, and I used a 1st level Pearl of Power as a base for the spell). That sound about right?

Add 2000gp to that, as you would need it to be a magic weapon.

Hanbo works better as a walking stick than a club.

If it is not used as a weapon you don't have to add the cost of the magic weapon. It sounds more like a rod (or maybe wand).

Well the druid's core weapon is a spear, but I thought this could be a more discreet option in a civilized setting where they may not appreciate you wandering around with a spear. So that's why I went with a club, not a rod.
