Good Afternoon. I am currently playing a level 1 Half-Xeph (homebrew race) Soulknife and I plan on taking the Alter Blade blade skill but I am confused about one aspect of it. The text states that "The soulknife gains the ability to shape her mind blade into different weapon forms. She may change her blade's form to the light weapon, one-handed weapon, or two-handed weapon forms any time she forms her mind blade." Which to me sounds like I could change the weapon type but not the damage type. But I was reading a guide about PF Soulknives and they stated that this blade skill allows you to "change your mind blade's shape every time you form it, instead of it being "locked in" to your last shape and needing a full-round action to change." This makes it sound like I could change the damage type as well. Any thoughts?

"The soulknife may change the damage type of an existing mind blade, or may summon a new mind blade with a different damage type, as a full-round action; otherwise, the mind blade retains the last damage type chosen every time it is summoned." What I'm wondering is does this blade skill make it just a move action to change the damage type? Sorry for the confusion.

Because Shape Mind Blade explicitly states: "She may also re-assign the type of damage dealt as part of reshaping her mind blade if she so chooses."
And Alter Blade states "She may change her blade's form to the light weapon, one-handed weapon, or two-handed weapon forms any time she forms her mind blade. "
I would allow it to change the damage type when summoning the blade IF you have the Alter Blade skill.
And once the soulknife is 5th level, it would be a free action (once per round).
