This is a classic Sci Fi movie from 1985. I think it's one the best Sci Fi movies ever made. Has anyone seen it?
Synopsis:A soldier from Earth crashlands on an alien world after sustaining battle damage. Eventually he encounters another survivor, but from the enemy species he was fighting; they band together to survive on an hostile alien world.

Awesome movie.
Was based off of a novella by Barry B. Longyear and apparently according to Wikipedia there were sequels (other books, not to the movie).

Great film. It really showed the best of what Sci Fi is capable of. My only beef is that when -spoiler- Dennis Quaide is finally rescued, they don't spend any time on his reintegration into human society. I didn't know if he was grateful to be rescued, skeptical of the cause he once fought for, revealed to finally speak to another human being, or anything else. You can infer some of his attitudes by the actions he makes later on, but I think they missed one of the most important character moments in the film. Particularly jarring as Enemy Mine is basically a character study.

Indeed, a great film. I probably haven't seen the whole thing in 20 years or so. Lous Gossett Jr. was excellent in that movie
Lou Gossett Jr. is awesome in every movie he is in. The problem is that all to often the rest of the movie around him is crap. If he was as good as picking scripts as he is at acting he would probably be considered an all-time great.
I have to get Enemy Mine in my DVD collection sometime. Good film.

Yeah, he's been in some pretty bad movies, but folks gotta' put food on the table.
Like Gossett Jr.'s work in Enemy Mine, Winfield did a great job in full-face makeup convincingly playing an actual "alien" ... a "person" that was very, very different from a human being.

I hear you Mr. Lensman. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I do have a copy in my DVD pile, and imma' watch it sometime this week.
It's an exceptional movie.
