So my plan is that the Whispering Way needs a replacement artifact for the mace. my idea is a holy relic from ustalav's past from the cathedral in caliphas.
my questions are two-fold
1) the artifact i plan to use is mentioned in Rule of Fear is called the scroll bones of father gesegne. is that a whole skeleton etched with spells or just a hand full of bones?.
2) as of right now i plan to use map of pharasmin cathedral from Godsmouth Heresy but it seems a bit small (which can be adjusted). my question is if there is a better or bigger map of a gothic cathedral in another book i can buy?. thank for any help
the outline so far is that the party encounters advion at the harraday theater so he can ask for the mace back in a civilized manner (failing that researching a replacement, one must have contingencies after all), after whole vampire thing have them race to simultaneously(?) prevent kidnapping and break-in and theft.
after i get my main npc for this part i'll post him, so far he is an inquisitor (infiltrator archetype) of urgathoa. any suggestions or ideas are welcome.
also a big thank you to everyone that worked one Carrion Crown. it is an awesome adventure path that's inspired countless ideas.

Another idea that has been brought up on the boards before (and the one I am most likely going to go with) is that the Raven's Head mace isn't actually used in the Carrion Crown formula.
The Whispering Way was attempting to secure it since it was a weapon used to battle the Whispering Tyrant before and could potentially be found and used against him again.

I've read and considered that option. it just doesn't seem plausible that a 20+ level lich would be afraid of someone wielding a +2 undead bane disruptive heavy mace (he did kill a demigod after all) i also love caliphas and would like to expand on it then what the ap has. i've also decided to introduce advion at the hardy theater and this gives him an additional reason to be there (other then to ask for his mace:). thanks for the suggestion tho.

Very true as far as the stats of the item itself, but I view it more as the Whispering Way being afraid of it being used as a symbol that people would be able to use to rally others in opposition to the Whispering Tyrant.

the problem i see with that is its been buried in the mud of lake encarthan for so long hardly anyone remembers it. i just prefer to use a replacement artifact (it doesn't have to be magical per-se just something that may have residual ties to when the whispering tyrant was free) i also like the idea of the pcs trying to keep someone from making off with some old bishop's skeleton from the cathedral (and if the pcs actually do stop it in time i'll figure out a plan B:). this will also allow me to give them someone from the whispering way to confront in caliphas. and i get to make an inquisitor npc.

What it it had a special ability of Demigod Slaying? It's a feature which wouldn't be used, would make the players think it will be needed, and overprice the item to the level where no-one could afford to buy it.

I'm going with a replacement artifact. what i was looking for if people knew of a cathedral map from a different book i could use for the pharasma church in caliphas, right now i'm going with the godsmouth cathedral from kaer maga, if there is a bigger map in a different book that would be better (the godsmouth cathedral is awesome just a bit small for caliphas).
