Minor Event - Founding of Tatzleford

Should the PCs help build Tatzleford or should it grow and expand all by itself? I am not sure how much to communicate about Tatzleford or how much influence the PCs should have.

Is Tatzleford used in later modules?

Thanks for the advice.

(Correct me if I'm wrong, don't have my books with me), I believe the party has to pony up the BPs to build the town, so it's purely a business opportunity. The locale does have a role in a later module, though it shouldn't matter if your group takes up the offer to build there or not. I wouldn't build it up yourself as the future module indicates what occurs if no one built there.

Tatzlford features prominently in the first act of Kingmaker's Blood for Blood adventure...written by some first-time AP contributor hack, I think. ;-)

Meh, little bump in the road for conquering armies to stamp 'neath jackbooted feet. Nothing major. Move along, move along ... this is not the plot hook you are looking for ...

I gave it to my players as a free town. Building it up until it looks like the one in Blood for Blood.

My players wanted Loy and Laticia as councilors so they struck a deal if the players helped build their dream town over a 2 year period than they would in exchange be happy to be councilors. Loy handed a shopping list to the players which looked exactly the way it looks in BforB. (I have a 9 month lay off between adventures)

Liberty's Edge

I have used an adaptation of the rules in Wayfinder 5 (a free download, there is material on kingdom building in n. 4 and 5), making Loy and Laticia a knight family for free, giving them for free the preparation of the hex and allowing the hex to be part of the kingdom even if it is not currently connected by controlled lands.

The downside is that the player kingdom will pay for all the constructions in Tatzelford (with the once in a lifetime discount listed in the event description).

tot hat I have added another rule suggested in this forum: towns and villages, making Tatzelford a village.

I bribed my players into helping them found Tatzelford (free city and no clearing expenses, if you connect up in 3 months!), but now I'm regretting it. They've shown no interest in building there, and I'm not sure how to build it up in time for BfB if they're not willing to invest in it. (We're wrapping up RRR now, so they may change later). If it had started independently, it'd already have some buildings when it became relevant.

Bobson- I would have Loy beg the PC's to help build up Tatzlford and if they still don't I would let the invaders auto destroy and capture that space and then have a strengthned invading force move onto and suprise attack their capital.

I always think that if the adventure drops clues and the party doesn't pick up on it then things will become much more difficult based on poor party decisions.
